I have my 14" MBP in my downstairs home office I rarely use, and connect to it remotely from my iMac so I don't have to handle it! lol. Fortunately I'm not travelling right now.

Need a case! InCase? Speck?

Hello,

I ordered this one today and should receive it Thursday. The description seems to indicate it will work with the 16" MBP.

This case does indeed fit the new 16" MBP, just got mine today and its perfect!

Now that I've received both my M1 Max 16" MBP and Native Union Stow Lite Sleeve, I can personally confirm that it fits perfectly. I was a bit worried that it might be too snug with the added thickness of the new models but it's not an issue. It's like the sleeve was designed specifically for this year's model.

The Stow Lite feels very well made and looks great. Highly recommended.

Confirmed indeed! Like it was made for it.

I got the same for the 2021 16 inch and it does fit perfectly
Another happy camper here. To be honest, initially it seemed to me to be a little too snug. On second thoughts, however, I think it is a much better setup than the Thule Gauntlet 2.0 I've been using since forever.

My Native Union Stow Lite sleeve arrived and I'm very pleased with it so far. It doesn't seem to add a lot of bulk but still has some padding. The fit is pretty spot on, with just a little breathing room but not enough to make me worried about the computer sliding around.

Has anyone tried the Native Union Stow Slim Sleeve on the new 16"? Looking on Amazon I see the company has answered questions saying that it is compatible with the 2021 16" model.

Edit: the description says not compatible but in the Q&A it says it is so who knows

Thank you for this. I have the Stow Slim and there's no way its going to fit. It's super tight on the sides even with the existing machine, and the new one is thicker and lacks tapered edges. Going to pickup a Lite for it instead.

Tim
Have you tried the Slim yet? According to the company they say it's compatible with the new 16's. Unless maybe they tweaked the dimensions moving forward to support both of them, 2019 and 2021?

This arrived today from Amazon. Honestly I wasn’t expecting much but I really like it :)

MacBook Pro 16 M1pro case
I ordered and promptly returned the Lacdo case. Looked like it was put together by a drunk and high gorilla. Literally nothing was straight. Back pocket was a mess, zipper was randomly attached and was barely hanging on in places. Terrible quality.

Wow. Sorry you had a bad one. Mine has no issues. Zippers are good quality, lines are spot on. It fits nicely :)

Hi,

I looks like the 2021 Macbook Pro 16 inch fits the 16inch Macbook Pro leather sleeve from Apple. I got some photo’s from someone on Reddit and he said that the fit is good. It only sticks out just a tiny tiny bit. He also mentioned it takes a few days with the Macbook in it to loose up the sleeve.

Hope this helps!! I think i will grap one at a discount price!

I received my new keyboard cover today and so far it is great! I'll include the post below for those who are looking for one:

My new transparent keyboard cover arrived from Amazon today. It perfectly fits the new 2021 MPBs. As with any keyboard cover there is that initial learning curve, but this one is very thin and doesn't slide around or stick to my fingers. I was using a Moshi one on my old 2013 MBP, and this is significantly thinner than that.

I've never used or even entertained the idea of keyboard covers, so apologies if my question is dumb.

Are these covers generally used to stop dust (you type on it with it on), or to prevent oil from being transferred from the keyboard to the screen when the lid is closed (as in you place it on the keyboard before closing the lid)?

After using these keyboard covers since college, I can say they serve two purposes really well:
- Preventing the keys from getting the shiny/oily look when the coating starts rubbing off after normal usage. This is purely cosmetic, but I absolutely hate seeing that shiny look on the keys.
- Those nasty crumbles that can get in between the keys, where you swore to yourself you'd never eat near your laptop, but inevitably do so.

The biggest drawback to these keyboard protectors are that no matter how thin they are, they do press against the screen under light pressure (when the laptop is closed) and leave smudges. You'll be cleaning your screen more often because of this. Also, you're closing off any possible ventilation from the keyboard but I can honestly say this hasn't been an issue for the nearly 10 years I've used these for.

anyone have any alternatives to bestskinsever?
I used Slickwraps for my 2016 Touchbar MBP and had absolutely no complaints. I was a little shocked to see all the negative reviews since I had such a positive experience. Either way, I didn't let that stop me from pre-ordering their naked series matte skin for my 14". Hasn't shipped yet, but if the quality is anything like my carbon fiber skin for my 2016 tbMBP, I will be satisified.

Bummed that BSE is gone-- they were great albeit a little pricey. Dbrand doesn't have any translucent ("naked" per Slickwraps marketing) skins so they're out of the question.
