Have to wait until the board arrives so I can start prototyping.

*edit* - arrives on the 10th.
Today's the day! I'm busy with quite a few other projects, but I'm going to hop on this within the next 2 months and give it my best shot as well.

If I can come up with something relatively easily scalable, I'll put it up for purchase on an e-shop (or maybe just use Fulfilled by Amazon).

Didn't arrive today. USPS says it's expected delivery date is the 10th, but latest tracking shows 'Dispatch New York, NY' on the 6th.

Maybe tomorrow.

troop231, where the heck did you get ahold of those 6+12 card edge connectors? I have been frantically trying to find them for two months!

Actually, it's true. My 06 C2D BlackBook got a $1.99 "Airport Extreme Enabler" update straight from Apple, and it enabled the N band on my laptop's WiFi card. It happened.

I currently have a 17" early 2011, and I'd love to get AC on this thing too! I already have native USB3 with a Fresco ExpressCard adapter, so WiFi AC would be the icing on the cake for me. I'm always writing to / reading from my NAS.
I have a Mid 2009 17" MBP, what ExpressCard adapter are you using to get a USB3?

any news about your (or others) project(s)?

link speeds

Actually, Webpass is making synchronous speeds available in a few cities. So, the issue of wireless connection max speed is important...though I realize it is statistically not widespread....yet.

Hello.

Does anyone know where I can source a WiFi card?

BCM94360CSAX

Forgive I haven't had my morning coffee yet but are you guys saying the AC card from Haswell rMBP can fit in a Med 2012 rMBP?

Yes it does work. There are several people have tried it and it works perfectly.

I'm using this one - it's the only one with the Fresco FL1100 chipset that works natively with the 2011 MBP that I can find.

I haven't had much time to dedicate to this recently, but I'm still incredibly interested in pursuing it. I've got a lot going on, but as it cools down, I'll be looking into antenna snap adapters to make this an easy do-it-yourself job.

Where can you buy this card?

as i know, the 802.11ac's model is bcm94360csax, no way to buy it, maybe, you can try to seach it in DHGATE or aliexpress website, maybe some chinese can sell it.

Yep buying the late 2013 802.11ac wifi card will work with 2012 and early 2013 MBPr.

Works fine with 10.9.2 installed on my early 2013 MBPr.

One thing to note though, bootcamp, need to extract the Broadcom driver from the late 2013 Bootcamp and install that.

Honestly most people will not need it.

(I have a 802.11ac router so it's nice for local area file copying without using ethernet)

The seller that RMXO posted, agreetao.com is the one I purchased it from.

To note, I purchased it with a virtual credit card number cause I was a little wary, but I did receive the 802.11AC card. It took roughly 3-4 weeks to receive it because I ordered right before Chinese New Years (With regular slow/cheap shipping, SingPost).

Sweet so you used my link. Do you recommend it?

Thanks. Did you buy from them already? Are they reliable?

I'm going to buy it soon though.

I'm going to buy it soon though.

Didn't quite use your link, I originally was perusing through taobao.com and started looking through agreetao, eventually found that seller. (Purchased on 02/03/2014)

But everything worked out for me, just be ready for long shipping time.

I am ready to buy the bcm94360csax for my MID 2012 MBP Retina.... But how do you do this bootcamp thing? I have never used bootcamp and I dont have access to Bootcamp on a 2013 MBP Retina...

How do I go about doing this?

I dont want to spend all this money on the card and then..... zilch

Very cool that I stumbled into this thread as I want to upgrade to a used rMBP.

Btw, anyone out there looking into this would need it only if you are looking for fast LAN file transfers with an AC router or have a fast home connection.

I have AT&T Gigapower with 300/300. I typically got ~100/60 with my 2011 MBP and a 2008 Time Capsule. Using the same computer and a Netgear Nighthawk R7k AC Router I get about 220up/180down using wireless-n...
