Do you guys have any advice for one in my situation? I'm a college student, and I am going to have to be carrying around my 13'' Pro with me all the time. My last laptop I just stuck it in my book bag without a sleeve or case over it, but this one is soooooo much more classy so I want to treat it a lot better.

Do you recommend getting a case for this sort of thing? It needs to go into my book bag alongside my textbooks.

What is the best case/ sleeve that can take your charger as well as your macbook.

A lot of the time if I'm taking my Macbook with me I'll be taking it because I'm staying the night somewhere so I'll need to take the charger with me too.

Very few cases/sleeves accommodate this.

Guys i am broke and trying to use my apple student gift card to buy a sleeve or case .. is there one that fits snug and protects well the 13" retina that you would know, think, or have personal experience with?

How much is your gift card worth? I have a thule sleeve and tech21 case for my 15" rmbp. I would highly recommend these two products.

What are some good 'invisible' or colourless cases for 13' rMBP? Something thin maybe

Backpacks

I'm looking for a backpack that will carry the 13" MacBook Pro, and other general stuff (iPad, charger, a notepad, my lunch.) My criteria are pretty simple. I want it to be small-ish, have a few extra pockets for other stuff, and be under $300 (so no designer stuff.)

Right now it's a toss-up between:

Incase ICON Slim Pack
http://goincase.com/shop/incase-icon-slim-pack#color/14

GoRuck Echo
http://www.goruck.com/en/gr-echo

GoRuck 0
http://www.goruck.com/en/gr0#.U-mKsVZxfDM

The Incase seems to be taking the lead, just because it's more tech-friendly. The GoRuck bags have a better warranty, and they seem more durable. Then again, I'm not in the military, I'm just taking it on the subway.

Any thoughts from owners of these bags would be appreciated!

Last week I got the Incase Icon Slim. I love it so far. Big enough to carry all my stuff, but not to big. I was in a toss up for a month before I finally pulled the trigger and bought the backpack. I also go the new sleeve from Incase too. It fits nicely in the already padded area. It might be over kill, but I don't want anything to happen to my macbook pro!

I have a Herschel Pop Quiz and it's bigger than the picture looks, but well within the size of the bags you have linked. Has a padded laptop sleeve for up to 15" MBP. Allows for a bit of expression rather then those rather dull bags (though I am a student!)

Mind you, looks like you have a lot to spend and are looking for something more pro-grade but tbh those ones you linked look like overkill.

Thanks Leldon, I think I'm going to go with the Incase Icon Slim too. The GoRuck stuff does seem a bit too heavy-duty.

Sheza, I actually really like the Hershel Pop Quiz backpack. I would have bought it, but strangely, they discontinued the Pop Quiz Plus - that's the one I wanted to buy, since the 'Plus' series has additional pockets. It was an Apple Store exclusive, and they no longer sell it. Bizarre.

Thanks for the recommends everyone!

please recommend hard case for rMBP.. I have looked through the sticky thread

Can you please recommend a hard case for my new 15 inch rMBP? The one they have in the apple store has really bad reviews. I'm looking for one that hopefully doesn't scratch it?
I know there is a sticky thread on this topic, but that is just making me more confused!
Thanks in advance

Others might not like it, but I've never had a problem with the Speck shell for the rMBP. Have one on both my 13" and 15". I take the shell off once a week to clean out any dust or anything that might get up underneath. Not had any scratches or damage caused by the case.

Weird question. I'm looking for a black case/cover for my 13" rMBP. I saw it on the MTV show Catfish. One of the guys on the show has a black cover for his MBP and I like the look of it...

Any help?

Please, are there ANY stylish, sleeve like cases that have shoulder straps? :(

I bike commute to campus, so a strap is a 100% must. That said, all I need is my Macbook, I don't want to carry a messenger bag. :( I found the Brenthaven Collins vertical (Here's a link: http://store.apple.com/us/product/HFMN2ZM/A/brenthaven-13-collins-vertical-sleeve-for-macbook-air-and-macbook-pro?fnode=4eab7743d52486ab5f929ca1789d6dc80287dd2066358e666fefcfdcdeb5e55f30b898217642abe406e847bce67ed0f505c61e56322e8a6667c43628c816448853eba9ca06300dff241a0d6d824a84b4cf9278b8584f50446f63931a2e8432d176154809d21074a52a0bc956cfe4f33a ) and I LOVE the style, but I hate that it's vertical. It looks like a purse to me.

That case in horizontal would be PERFECT. They make it, but for a 15. :( Any recommendations?
