For a sleeve only my favourite has been the Vatuka. 2 years now and it's perfect. Zippers never interfere and you can use the laptop in the sleeve if you like with the charger plugged in without interference. For a carrying case I just picked up the Thule Stravan from the Apple site - it just arrived but it looks and feels unbelievable.

Im interested in Vatuka as well. I was looking at Thule but zipper lining seems to be thick putting pressure on cables from review.

How is the Vatuka? is the zipper protection lining putting presure on the cables and connectors and is it blocking air flow on vent?

Here is a pic of it in the Vatuka sleeve. This one was purchased for my MBA 2 years ago. Since the MBP fit in here as well, I kept the sleeve but you can see at the top there is a slight gap in the corners where the plastic inserts are because the air has a taller profile. If you buy the one for the pro it should be perfect. There's no pressure on the cables if you use the case this way. As far as air flow, the vents do have room to flow upward. If I was doing any intensive work I would take it out of the sleeve.

I'm not sure how you mean about cable pressure on the Thule Stravan as that is more of a bag and I can't see how you could use the laptop without taking it out.

I ordered this from Amazon for $20 with free shipping (if you're Amazon Prime). For $20 I was surprise how good it looks. It does have the rubberized fill to it, which I love it.

Odd. In the photo above, the case doesn't cover the sound ports on the left side. If the photo in the Amazon ads, it does.

Now that you mentioned it, i noticed the difference. But the bottom line, I like what I got and for $19.99 :) ..

pm me a high end quality leather sleeve that can fit with a black rubber hard case please can't seem to find one that fits with the hard shell on. the hard shell only adds a very minimal ammount of bulk like 2-3cm so I'm looking for a nice looking business sleeve to carry around college campus + work meetings in the city

Looking for a nice, maybe black leather, messenger bag that will fit a 13" rMBP, iPad Air 2, and maybe a couple other things (chargers, cables, couple papers). Any favorites out there?

Thule Strävan for 15" MBP + Incase Tensaerlite for 13" rMBP

I've finally found the best way to carry my new 13" rMBP and iPad Mini Retina. I needed a professional looking backpack that I could use for daily office work without my laptop (I can't bring electronic devices where I work) to carry a few folders, Moleskin planner, etc., but also be usable when I travel and carry my laptop, iPad and accessories. Here are some links to them:

https://www.goincase.com/shop/sleeves/icon-sleeve-mb-retina-13/
http://store.apple.com/us/product/HFDR2ZM/A/thule-stravan-backpack-for-macbook-pro

They were a little pricey $99 for the backpack and $69 for the sleeve, but they work together perfect. The sleeve is the thinnest one that perfectly fits the 13"rMBP with the most protection. It is perfect for carrying your laptop to the hotel lobby, Starbucks, etc. when you don't need a lot of accessories (i.e. Charger, portable HD, etc) and still have some good protection. The laptop with sleeve fits in the laptop compartment of the Strävan backpack for additional protection. The backpack will protect the laptop perfectly fine without the sleeve, but since it can support up to a 15"rMBP the fit is perfect with the sleeve. In the same thin compartment at the back of the backpack you can also put a full sized iPad or in my case a iPad Mini.

There is an expandable compartment for all of your folders; hard "safe zone" for your sunglasses, iPhone, etc.; another compartment with pockets and zippers for your chargers, external HD, lightning cables, etc.; and water bottle sleeves on both sides. The bonus is that this bag is small to medium size and very "clean" looking. Not a lot of straps hanging around.

Even though this is a "laptop" backpack, there is a lot of room for "stuff" and not a lot of wasted space in the laptop compartment if there is not a laptop in it. I also like the fact that it doesn't look like a hikers backpack and you could probably carry it with a suit on.

The sleeve is just bonus protection because the laptop compartment is definitely adequately padded. It gives you the option of leaving your backpack behind and still have protection for your $1000+ investment.

Hope this helps anyone looking for similar options.

can someone recommend me a good case for the mid 2014 mbp lineup? The cases i've seen on amazon all seem to cover the vents that's located on the bottom-side of these new lineup models.

You can check my previous posts about a case i bought for $19.99. It fits perfectly(does not cover the vents including the bottom) for my 13" rmbp (mid 2014). This case is not designed to protect your macbook against accidental drop but rather scratches, scruffs, normal wear/tear blemishes- but for $20 I'm happy with what I paid for :)

I was considering getting this case also then I heard about magnet problems. How is your computer holding up to the case?

I've had no issues whatsoever, as long as you don't use the case as a mat for your Mac you won't have problems with it going into sleep mode otherwise it's already in sleep mode or off while its in the case lol

I've been looking for a sleeve for my macbook po retina 15 for at least a month. I can't find a proper one where I can put charger and external drive. I'm almost giving up and buying a normal one, but not even the classic ones seems to fit well the retina models...
