My apologies, I meant to add a bit about the strap. I carry about 25 pounds on a day to day basis in the Bolt. The strap is excellent, well padded, with leather on top and grippy padding on the bottom. Waterfield's straps are generally the best I have dealt with. The padded shoulder area is 9 inches long and has a slight bend to fit to your shoulder. Yes it is comfortable to carry, and doesn't slip off your shoulder.

Looks very nice! I don't have a shoulder strap, just handles, but that one looks pretty nice!

Will a 13" macbook pro retina with case fit in the 13" amazonbasics sleeve? Or is the 14" the one to get.

Looking at a clear ipearl case along with a matte/rubberized finish case for a similar price. I think the speck is overpriced, but I do like that dark red they have.

Oh and probably get this bag while its on sale http://www.bestbuy.com/site/targus-...019121517&ksprof_id=8&ksaffcode=69&ksdevice=c

A 13" mbpr with an ipearl case fit great in the 13" amazon sleeve.

Also got a tecool case because I wanted something "soft touch," but that fits like crap....or rather doesn't fit at all. Not sure if I was sent a 15" case, but way too big.

Be.ez sleeve or similar?

Hi,

I have a 15" MBPr and need a sturdy sleeve for commuting.

For my old MacBook I had a Be.ez sleeve which was great as it was light but durable and solid (made from memory foam rather than just neoprene)- protected against bumps rather than just scratches. I can't seem to find any of these available now though (amazon all out of stock, as are local suppliers).

Can anyone recommend a sleeve similar to this? I'm not fussed about it adding a bit more bulk or weight- just want to keep my computer safe!

Cheers

I am looking for a nice shoulder strap carrying case for my 13" Macbook, anyone have any recommendations? Not looking for anything pricey. Anywhere from 30-65 bucks would be fine

hard case for used 17" mbp

I'm planning to buy a used 17, hopefully a mid 2010 with the i7 and matte screen. I dont want to spend more than $800. Depending on the body scratches or dents, or lack thereof, i want to get one of those colorful hard cases. I have an orange one, cost $10 on amzn, on my mid 2010 15 mbp. But i cant find one for the future 17, not on ebay, not on amzn. I guess since the 17 was dropped by apple no one is making such cases. Anyone have any ideas? Tia.

MacBook Pro 13 inch Retina 2014 work in case

I'm looking for a good quality work in case, something similar to what vajacases.com makes. Not looking for cheap plastic covers that end up causing more damage to the machine than it's worth. I'm looking for something the machine will sit in without ever needing to remove it. I have used vajacases.com for 15 inch MacBook Pro Retina in the past and it was not that bad but of course its very expensive. I would be willing to pay that much for the right product though. Would like leather or other material besides plastic. What do you recommend?

Was there something you didn't like about the Vaja case for the 15" rMBP that makes you not want to get one for your 13" rMBP?

I've been looking for a good case for my new 15" rMBP and the Vaja case looks like it would fit my needs.

Durable Case for MacBook Pro?

Hi,

I need a durable case for my Macbook Pro 15' Retina; something that will stand 6 feet drops, durable. I am using speck case now and it is ok and not that impact proof. I have looked at the Thule Case & Tech21 Case ($99). Any other suggestions?

Thanks

I like the case but it could use some improvements. I was just looking around to see if any similar cases exist out there but that does not appear to be the case at least I have not found anything so far. Also I was not too happy to learn that they charge the same price for a 13 inch MacBook Pro case that they charge for the 15 inch.

The 15" is listed as $70 more than the 13". Did the price of the 15" rise since you bought yours?

I normally don't post in threads like these but I've found a sleeve that I'm absolutely in love with. I love the ease and portability of sleeves but many times it doesn't have much extra space for storage. Sometimes there's not even room for the charger.

Well this combines style, and functionality.

Cocoon Graphite Sleeve from the online apple store.

The first compartment is a basic sleeve while the secondary compartment is about two thirds the height of the first compartment. There is a system called grid-it which is basically a bunch of elastic straps criss crossed. I'm able to fit my charger, headphones, a few usb cables, and a snack or two for the library with room to spare. Love it so much I may even make a video review.

Skin or Case with Rubber feel

Hey All,

Looking for a cover and or skin that has a rubberized texture. I don't like the traditional plastic ones, Kuzy, mcover, etc.. Any suggestions? New macbook pro 13 with retina.

Check out Incipio. I have one and it is rubberized.

----------

I have a black Incipio case for my MBA 13" that I love. The reason I love it is because the Apple does not shine through and it feels nice.

Now I am looking around for a case for the MBPr 15" with the same awesome qualities. There seem to be a lot of cases out there but they all let the Apple logo shine through. I have looked at Incipio, Speck, Tech21 and many others. I have found one (STM Grip) but it seems to be discontinued (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Grip-Case-MacBook-Pro-Retina/dp/B008RJU1MI).

I really hope that someone here knows about a completely opaque case (black).

Not much out there. If you find something let me know. The thinnest is the Speck ($45-$50) The black is somewhat of a rubber feel. it is the most expensive and poorest quality. (This is the one the Apple store sells. it sickens me what they make on those things)

Hey I'm looking for a new backpack with a laptop section inside. My aging Obus Forme backpack has done quite well for me over the last 12 years but I think it's time for a new one. I bought my backpack during my first year at college. But I've long since been out of college. I have a 13" rMBP that I'd like to be able to carry around now and then plus the main compartment should be big enough to carry other things. Over the years my current backpack has been used many times to help with groceries. I can put 4L of milk in it with room to spare. My current backpack has a feature in which I can expand the backpack by unzipping it around the entire edge. It's come in handy a few times. My backpack now is about 20" in height at it's longest side which is the side that is against my back when wearing it. I want this backpack to last many years if possible so good strong quality is a must. Also having a sternum strap would be great as the one on my current backpack broke years ago.

Does the new 13'' rMBP fit older cases?
I'd love to know this too. I have a brenthaven case to my 2008 unibody and I'm guessing the rMBP will fit with some extra room.

<edit> oops! Seems I missed the responses. Thanks! :)
