I would vouch for ProCase MacBook pro 13 @ $16 whilst Tech 21 is a big brand and they do deliver quality but i still feel they are overpriced. The ProCase has a soft rubberized coating that prevents scratches and adds slight resistance against shocks. You can also consider a few other less expensive options here

Just bought a Samsonite Paradiver Light L backpack. Amazing size, quality and colour and can fit all my gadgets with ease. Highly recommended! I've bought a few backpacks over the past few weeks and this has topped them all. It's light at only 700 grams and can carry all my below devices with ease, plus a notepad for writing at work, my lunch, cables/dongles etc and a water bottle.

Any help on deciding between the SF Bags Dash Sleeve vs Maxwell?
I really like the idea of having straps on the Maxwell but I just don't know what situation I would be in to just carry a laptop with nothing else. Couple with the fact that the Maxwell is 1+ pound for JUST the sleeve without the straps.
But at the same time... something about it looks so nice :(
Both would be purchased in the Black Ballistic variant.

Looking for a recommendation - I've had macbooks for the last decade, and have usually used hard cases. Inevitably though, this results in scratches when debris gets caught in between the case and item. Trying to decide between a skin, a sleeve, or just another hard case (that might be softer to to not cause the same issue).

I originally ordered a slickwrap, but long story short that company is a disaster and I ended up initiating a chargeback, so now I'm at square one. Thoughts on wraps? Are they helpful? Any hard cases that don't cause scratches?

Okey so I am looking for mbp tb sleeve without zipper. I am currently using artwizz sleeve which has zipper, Its okey fits great but I am always extremely careful when taking the mac in and out. I was searching for incase icon sleeve but its sold out for six months on their site and stores in my county... The other option I am looking now is the Harber leather sleeve, I have some questions about it like will it prevent from dust because the inside is from wool not microfiber and does the tan color age nicely. ( I must add that I put my mac with sleeve in a backpack to carry it around )I am open to other suggestions around 70 euros.

Just picked up a new MBP yesterday and I want to protect it. I’ve been using BeatSkinsEver on my iPhones and iPads since 2012 and want to get a full body skin for my new MBP but can’t decide if I want glossy or matte. Anyone use BSE on their MBP? If so, did you go with matte or glossy? I do not plan to put it on the screen (I prefer not to put anything over the beautiful display) and just want front/back/wrist/trackpad coverage.
Any input would be great, I’d like to get it protected ASAP. Thanks in advance!

Anyone here have a hardshell case for their MBP, something along the lines of ...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product...0de44c50a7e&pf_rd_r=FJCS8ABNXWA6AQB7ZE92&th=1

With this, would you need another case before you put it in your bag, i.e. incase something gets wedged between the screen or it accidentally opens in your bag?

Not likely, but you know what life is like. Right now I just have a sleeve, and I dont want to smash one of the sides against a door when I'm walking around.

I have a similar hard case and carry my computer in a soft sided leather bag. No additional protection is needed in my opinion.

Congrats on your MBP purchase. It is such a nice machine.
I like Dbrand skin a lot better, they have better grip IMO and better fit to the newer MacBooks. They have matte finish which feels nice to the touch and looks nicer in person too. Unfortunately they dont offer wrist protection.

I have BestSkinsEver on all of my MacBooks. They are really good and fit well but they are a wet install. If you have done one before its no big deal but if not it can be daunting the first time. I'm pretty OCD so fitting one takes me a solid hour to get perfect (lifting, correcting, removing bubbles, etc.) I always use their matte finish, as you will only see the skin on very close inspection. I have done maybe 5 or 6 of them over the years and they have never lifted or yellowed during the time I owned them. They improve the grip a lot and offer some scratch protection on the bottom...but not the edges of course. They are a great option if you want to keep the original look.

The skins such as DBrand and SlickWraps are great as well...I have used both in various colors / textures. As macfrik said, DBrand does seem to have a better fit in my experience than I have seen from Slickwraps but they more expensive. With the color skins, I tend to get sick of the look after few months and end up going back to BSE...but thats just me. If you like the look they protect well and add a distinctive look.

I bought a similar offering from "InCase" at the Apple Store when I purchased the laptop. It does its job.

I put mine into a padded sleeve before it goes into my bag. I try to mitigate damage risks to my $5,000+ laptop when I am traveling.

I have a Speck case and a Kuzy. Work great but they do make the laptop a bit thicker and also makes the screen heavier so the hinge might wear quicker.

Thanks, has anyone noticed significant wear on their hinge to the point where it's just loose. Apple would replace this right? I mean they do sell the product on their website.

Yes, I've been using BSE since 2012 (maybe even before that), they make a great product. I just wasn't sure what to go with: matte or glossy - I ended up ordering matte and should have it by the weekend. I remembered when I would get the glossy versions for my iPad/iPhone they have a bit of a orange peal look to them, although I do like the added grip with the glossy skins, they visual look is not appealing, especially with a MBP and how much surface area there is.

On a side note, I ordered this zipper sleeve for it to protect it in my backpack (my backpack is designed for a 15" laptop so the 13" moves around too much, this sleeve helps a lot). I like this sleeve because there is a neoprene flap in the top interior providing extra snug protection and prevents rubbing the zipper.

I picked this Omoton Laptop Stand and I really love it! I am super picky about the condition of my macbook pro and I hate just setting it down anywhere. I got tired of looking for a safe flat spot to put it when not in use. I checked out a few laptop stands and this was a good budget one I really liked.

So a week or so in with the woolnut leather sleeve and I must say, it’s brilliant! Leather is supple but durable, the feel can’t be beat, the wool internal lining is awesome, and the sleeve has stretched to fit the MacBook without being too snug. Plus, I can charge while it’s in the sleeve. ½ price of the apple alternative to boot!

Highly recommended.

Hey guys, about to buy that full leather case from Piscaso Lab, but asked if I could have black stitching instead of Red...I will review it once I receive it.

Anyways, just wanna show off my new dbrand (swarm) skin on my 2018 MBP 15"
