Reread the OP where it is. 13" didn't exist then. Deserves own thread, not a derailing.

The mods can decide that and create a new thread if necessary. In the meantime, the thread already includes cases, sleeves, and bags. It's not exactly focused, it will not get any further derailed by the addition of a 13".

What are some cool carrying cases for rMBP? I'm looking for something around $50-60. I've looked at incase sling, but it doesn't open all the way and it seems like it would be easy to scratch the laptop against the zipper. I might just go for the Wenger Legacy if I can't find anything that looks good but is very functional as well.

THIS JUST IN: HAMMERED HARDCASE FROM InCase:

I will unbox it and put it on in a few hours, for more photos, but it's just been delivered now.

Waited 1.5 months for Apple Canada, since ordering. I don't think you can get it anywhere else.

Does anyone know a nice slim fit sleeve for my Macbook Pro 13 inch Retina? (I live in Europe, but if there isn't anything available here, I will consider importing). Went to the apple store and they said that I have to look online, but I can only find the big ugly Waterfield sleeves and muijo sleeves...

Thanks in advance!

To all the people who have bought the Booq Mamba Sleeve

I just bought the Booq Mamba Sleeve for my rMBP, after reading mostly positive reviews about it on here. I have a question though, is it supposed to have ridges on one side? I'm not talking ridges anything like the ones on Booq Viper Sleeve, but they are minimal and you can feel it from the inside. I don't know how to explain it, it's just that one side of the sleeve is not smooth/straight as the other one. So I was wondering if that was normal, or if my sleeve has a defect. I apologize if this post doesn't make any sense, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry I was enjoying the case too darn much.

It's awesome. While it looks like clear plastic, the hammered-ness gives it a nice feel. Light, great fit, a bit of awesome. Will post pix late today!

Very nice. I just want something to provide a bit more grip. I loved the perforated case on my old one. Wish they had it for retina. Not a big fan of the look of the hammered case but its for function not aesthetics. Notice any additional heat?

I would love some pics when you can though.

new kid on the block wondering about accessories

Wrapsol

Anyone here with reviews (both good and bad)? i've been rather apprehensive about it cos it's a wet application type. afraid it'll trigger some of the water indicators in my mbp.

Specks

between the SeeThru (satin/non0satin) and the SmartShell (satin/non-satin), i'm assuming the SmartShell is thinner, but is it significant? i'm looking for an outer case that doesn't add too much dimension (and hopefully weight too)

Keyguard/Palm Guard

does anyone have any issue with their rmbp when using key/palmguards? i've read that apple doesn't recommend that we use either cos of tight tolerances.

Screen Protector

forgive me for asking but do people actually use screen protectors for their mbp? haven't really heard anyone mentioning that they do as of yet.

any help or advise is appreciated!

Do you have case dimensions of before and after his retooling? I'm curious as to how much smaller the case is now.

finally got my case yesterday evening and had a chance to measure the two today. It's really only fractions of an inch shorter than the previous one, though feels a bit lighter. It's a more rugged leather as well compared to the smooth one I got before.

The corners look better, as does the stitching on the back and front. The first case I got had a bit of white resin on the inside from the glue and theres none here. My name doesn't jump out because of the textured leather but I prefer that, it's a bit more subtle.

Also along the top of my first case there was a sealer he used(to attach the black to the red), leaving kind of a clear-coat. Theres none to speak of on the new one, it's still two pieces but they're not visibly attached like that. It actually looks like it's just one piece which is nice.

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask, theres an album I posted below with almost twenty pictures comparing the two. They're taken using my GNex so I apologize once again in advance.

All in all I do love the new one.

Anyway, HERES the album. The new case is on the bottom for nearly all of the shots except the first one I believe. Up close the textures look sort of similar, but they're drastically different and there are a few pictures showing that.

You can check them out at PicasoLab

Great review and thank you for the pictures! When you say 'fractions of an inch' difference, could you measure/guesstimate the difference? I did not see a picture showing the full view of both cases where you could see the size difference. The PicasoLab V1 is just like an 1/2" too big to fit perfectly into my Booq bag. So if he cut enough of it down to fit, I may be ordering a V2.

It's about the same length, maybe 1/16th different, but it's about an 1/8th or 1/4'' shorter. Same width.
