It's coming....

That's all I can say. I am sure Arn will post something soon.

I have proof but like everything at D yesterday with Stevie J. I can not divulge. I have heard though it is a minor rev. So Santa Rosa can not be confirmed.

If they don't bump the video card I'm stalking the Apple Outlet store.

I didn't see anything that interesting yesterday either. What kind of minor bump can you make on it as it is?

In before LED backlight spam.

I am not sure on the minor rev. I have a lunch bet for Santa Rosa.

American date system annoys the heck out of me. I mean, why would anyone put the month first? It's the date that's important! :D

12 month of the 20th day of the 6 year is the american way
or in scotland and most of the world

20th day of the 12th month of the 6th year.

But when you are talking, would you say, for instance, June 5th two thousand and seven, or 5th June two thousand and seven?

1.) It's been a long time coming.

2.) There's NO way they would upgrade on the 5th... then again on the 11th. I certainly think that would be the case, anyway... because I'm jumping on MBP with the next revision. If this new bad boy does pop up on the 5th, but lacks SR or LED... there's no way they would include those on a second update on the 11th, would they? No way. I'm trying to persuade myself... what do you all think?

That would make zero sense. But I'm still not convinced its coming the 5th. At this point why wouldn't they wait until WWDC?

lol

There can be no more revisions to the MBPs on the Napa platform, it is already at it's limit (2.33Ghz, 3GB Ram). It will be the Santa Rosa platform, it is the next step.

There is no guaranteed release on the 11th. It will be either or.

Us silly Americans put the month first :D

lol seriously...

I am american and I have to admit, it makes more sense going D/M/Y.
ever since i was 5 yrs old and learned, in school, the american way of doing it (m/d/y) i always thought "uhhh why doesnt it go day month year, thats weird"

no joke.

Americans like to do things crazy, like elect Bush.

Posted this on Arn's official rumor thread from the homepage:

It will be out on June 5, 2007.

The reason being is Apple wants to start their Educational Back to School Program soon, before WWDC. You can not start the program and then change models a week into the promo. Which like last year will most likely be a dollar amount off an iPod with purchase of a new system.

By changing the system ahead of the school promo, all the marketing can be made ahead of time with the correct specs.

Period.

This is why I'm american and I write my dates 31-May-2007

I just write out the month. It makes more sense and still doesn't confuse people.

A couple of years ago they upgraded the iPod during the educational promo. I got caught with the older model by about 3 weeks. The remainder of the promo was applied to the new iPod. This was before the $179 off that they do now. So I don't think that aspect alone can make this rumor true. However, Apple has acted much differently the last year or so

That is incorrect. It happened when they went from an iPod mini to the nano, and the promotion was still only good on the older iPod minis. I know cause I lived through the telling people that if they wanted the deal they had to buy the older model. That happened September 7th the deal ended at the end of Sept.

Re: American date system
I don't get it, either. Yeah, it's how you read it orally, but... stupid. Sort of like the "English" unit system and about a million other things.

Re: New MacBookPros.

Y-Y-YEEEEEEEEEEYYYAH!

Sorry, on July 19, 2004 they introduced the 4G clickwheel iPod during cram and jam. I ordered my 12" powerbook and 3G 40gig iPod on July 7th. If I had ordered a few weeks later, i would have gotten the 4G with clickwheel and still got $200 back

That is correct on that one. However for the mini and the nano it did not count on the nano, you had to buy the mini for the rebate.

Since then we have not had any problems, and hopefully they wait til after this promo ends to release the 6G iPod which could have the multi-touch with it.

i hate the headaches and it basically punishes customers for purchasing.
