missing parts

Sorry, forgot to upload.Hope it works this time.

Hi. Did you ever find out what the missing parts were? Did you get it up and running?
I have the same board but the white fuse on the right side of the image is blown, one side measures a short to ground. I have been looking for a board view for this board 820-2565-A but no luck. I have the schematics but no board view.
Any help would be appreciated.

Howdy everyone!

I'm trying to fix my MacBook Pro.
Does anyone have the boardview file for the early 2008 15-inch MacBook Pro (logic : 820-2249-A LIO : 820-2273)? I have the schematic,
IMG_0133.JPG
but I'm finding it very difficult to get ahold of the brd file. Any help would be much appreciated!

Thank you so much

Hey guys,

I have a Macbook Pro mid 2010 15 inches, which has a broken screen backlight. I can see contents if I use a led behind the screen / apple logo... Every other component seems to work just fine.

I opened the device and made shots. Can you please tell me if you see anything obvious broken (it was caused by little water damage, but the inner looks very clear to me)? Also on the first shot, is the red marked element the fuse for the backlight?

FUSE?

Hello guys

Today i have got a very confusing Macbook pro ( at least for me ).

It is a Macbook Pro 17" 2009 A1297.

When i open program or websites which hav white backgrund i see alot of pink small lines in the screen.

At the begining i thought that it could be the LCD or the LVDS cable, but after the replaceing both part i still had the same problem, then i tried to head the graghic chip and the component close to LCD connector but i still have the same issue.

By the way, i heated the components close to the LCD connector, because when i runing the computer after som second this happens. If i push on the left-up side of the computer close to the keyboard so it would fix every thing and i see a white and clean page but when i leave it after some secondes it comes back.

Please some help, i attach a two photo so you can see how it is.

thanks

Here you go.

If you are getting backlight but no image then I suspect something in the LVDS signaling or clocks. If the 3.3V supply (pins 2 and 3) is bad then normally the backlight will not come on at all. I believe there is some sort of feedback that is required for the SMC to enable the backlight. Anyway you could check for presence of 3.3V on pins 2 and 3. Be very careful probing with power on. One little slip and short circuits can happen.

I have an issue with LVDS on a different Mac. Where did you find that schematic? Would it be the same as the one in an iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2009), EMC 2308?

A newbie here. Great forum. Many thanks.

I have mid 2010 MPB 13 inch. I gave it a good whack when it was open on my bed and I woke up after dozing off. Slide onto bedside table. Clutch cover cracked, backlight not working. But I can see normal image on the display with flashlight. External display works fine.

I pulled the display assembly and see that under the clutch cover (what I think is the) magnetic switch assembly at base of screen has impact damage.

I see the fuse on top of MBrd near display connector (brownish, smallest size component, white dot, about 3/4" from display connector on Mbrd, consistent location and appearance with other posts here.) It appears to be blown when I test for continuity probing the two metallic sides of the fuse on top-side of MBrd.

QUESTION 1: Is this a fair way to test for continuity? Or do I need to pull the MBrd and test from other side?

As I am not capable of replacing the fuse myself I'll have it replaced by a qualified shop.

QUESTION 2: BEFORE POWERING UP with the new fuse I presume I should replace the display assembly with a (guaranteed) used one given apparent impact damage to what I take to be the magnetic switch assembly and possible damage to other parts hidden from view in display assembly may be the reason the fuse blew. Does this sound like the best approach?

I can replace the display assembly myself. I'd not like to have the fuse replaced then have it blow again if my current display is the source of the problem.

Thoughts anyone?

THANKS!

Have you solved this problem?
I have the same problem ..... unfortunately, u9600 (gmux) is a cpld
with no documentation at all so try to understand why it doesn't
genererate lcd_pwr_en it's very difficult ..

I have the same problem and my question is before doing something to change the U9600, can we simulate the input 1 on the U9000 to generate the 3.3V on the PP3V3_SW_LCD ?

Hi there folks! Lots of great info on this long thread. Hopefully someone has some insight into the problem I’m having.

I have a MacBook Pro 15” unibody mid 2012 and the backlight has stopped working. The strange thing is that it started to go out a week ago, but then I would kind of tap on the back of the screen and it would come back on. This happened a few times until it stopped working completely. I can plug in an external display and everything else works fine, no water damage.

My question is, is it possible that there is some lose connector somewhere that I can re-seat that would turn the lights back on? The display is on and I can see the display with a flashlight, so I don’t think it’s the LDS. I haven’t checked the fuses, but that would be my next step if there isn’t a connector somewhere.

Thanks for any insights!

Good evening, i need your help to find a solution for my backlight error.I have a "
black theatre / stage lights " on my Macbook Pro unibody A1278. I already have changed the LVDS 'graphic cable between the screen and the logic board but it still doesn't work. I tried to clean the connector and it still the same. I am waiting for a new screen but i'm pretty sure that wont change anything.
Is somebody has a solution to fix this error ?
Thanks.

The issue is with the return lines from the LED strings. There are 6 separate strings of LEDs. Each goes through a zero ohm resistor to the WLED driver. There will be six of them near the WLED driver. Check that each is actually zero ohms. If resistors are ok then the issue is with the WLED driver. Most likely the solder joints are rotted. You didn’t say which year of pro but if 2009/2010 model it is a QFN package. If 2011/2012 it is a ball grid array (BGA) package. You will require a new device and someone with very good soldering skills.
