i would have gone with macconnection, but i live in ny.. i had to go with freakn frys. they are probably going to take forever
Just FYI. They might quote different timeframes for different models.
I called in Sunday at 10 AM Pacific Time to place an order, and they told me the black 32GB model might come in sometime this week. My order just changed from "Backorder" to "Open" this morning.

what a surprise, my order from yesterday (when i started this thread) shipped. my order from store.apple.com, which i ordered at 1:01AM PST, is still "not shipped"

Wow MacConnection Ordered today and Shipped Today 32 GB Black Wi-Fi..... Better than Crappy Apple Store who Only Care about Lines and stats instead of Customers.
Is this true? Proof?
Just called - they did get some today, but they went to fill backorders. I asked about tomorrow, she said to check back, but most likely they would also go to backorders.

I ordered around 10 AM EST and was told some models had a longer wait than others. I asked about the 32GB Wi-Fi model and she told me it wouldn't ship until around March 30th. I couldn't get my order number to go in on the site. So I did a chat. Im pumped can't believe it.

Mine was shipped today. No tax in any state other than NY. Great vendor IMO.

They do charge sales tax in other states like NJ and OH (and a few others). Depends where their shipping centers are.
Also, an interesting fact is that they allow up to 4 orders at once. Most I've seen from any vendor.
I've always had really good experiences with this company. I wish I would have thought of them prior to placing my order with Apple but I got caught up in the "order page opens at 1 am!" hype.

a coworker ordered a 16GB white on Friday and it shipped on Monday. I ordered a 16GB black about 20 minutes earlier and they appear to be backordered until the 25th.

just ordered 16GB wifi White from Macconnection. Should have it in no time, thanks for the heads up!
Does everyone who ordered with macconnection have a landline? I've heard that there can be problems if you don't have one. I tried to ask one of the chat representatives but she was pretty useless so I guess I'll have to wait and see if I can verify the info with a rep on the phone tomorrow.
I just called Macconection, and I can also confirm 4/01 is when the next shipment comes in.
