Thanks gosharks! Just placed my order at J&R. For others who are interested, standard shipping is free, and 2-day shipping is about $12.

I ordered a iPad 2 Black 64Gb Wifi and just contacted macconnection and they said it would be 1.5 weeks more. I went to JR and ordered it and when I asked, they didn't give me the free shipping and they charged $10 more for standard. Maybe if you are more persistent, you can get the shipping free. :)

Macconnection or Sweetwater

Has anyone had any luck receiving their ipads from macconnection or sweetwater?

There haven't been many updates lately. Does this mean things are good?

Ordered a few 16GB wifi only black from Macconnection on April 5, and about a week later at sweetwater.

Still nothing. They have no clue when they will get any. ETA is always a week or two from whenever I ask!

A couple of people here said they ordered the same model on the same day as I did at Macconnection, and they got it. But Macconnection continues to claim to me that they have received no shipment from Apple for this model after I ordered.

Got tired of waiting for Macconnection so after getting a "stock alert" from JandR last night I called them this morning and ordered the Black WiFi 32Gb.

I couldn't wait any longer so I used an iPad stock finder program to find one at my local Target. Forget the tax, I love this thing.

Mine is on its way, will be a few days with the holiday...

What's this ipad stock finder program?

Did you order from Macconnect? If so when and what model? I actually have one more coming for my mom. She doesn't mind waiting.

The program was an app for my iPhone - FindOne. It checks Walmart and Target stores.

Thanks didn't know about that app.

No I ordered from JandR, you quoted my post about that above ;-)

Ok, I did put in the order at J&R when they had it in stock last week, but supposedly they ran out of stock during the process of accepting my credit card along with other orders. I guess the other orders got accepted first before mine.

At any rate, they just received new shipments and have sent mine out today. The only reason I'm talking about this is that I'm hoping that by J&R receiving more shipments this quick (within a week), possibly MacConnection will start receiving the same type of quick shipments.

Wish all you MacConnection orders a shipment on Friday! You've waited long enough. :)

i chatted with macconnection this morning and they said the big end of the month shipment has been postpone yet again... another 2-3 weeks is the estimate
waiting on the 16gb wifi...

I'm glad I cancelled my Macconnection order, sucked up the sales tax and got my iPad from Apple weeks ago. I think Macconnection will keep stringing people along, or more accurately, Apple will keep stringing them along. Apple is clearly reserving most of its supply for their own direct retail customers and why shouldn't they? Demand is so high and I'm sure Apple makes more on an iPad that they sell than on an iPad that Macconnection resells.

Canceled after two months!

Well, after waiting for over two months with Macconnection.com and sweetwater.com for a few iPad 2 wifi 16GB black, I found out that Abt.com had them in stock.

I ordered them at abt.com today. They have shipped them already. They charged $15 for shipping the whole order. So it was about $3 per unit for shipping, no taxes. The experience was pleasant.

I still find it appalling that authorized resellers of Apple like macconnection and sweetwater can't give us a definite ETA even this far removed from the launch of iPad 2.

Agreed. These are both good companies but apparently Apple does not keep its business partners updated.
