macconnection ipad 2

Mine didn't ship today (AT&T 16GB White - ordered on 4/6/2011.

Should I cancel the order and just get one from apple.com? On apple.com, it says shipping within 1-2 weeks. I mean, PC Connection Express keeps delaying shipment. They said 4/15. Then they said 4/22. And then it's delayed again. I know they just aren't getting the shipment from Apple but it's still annoying.

Option A: Wait indefinitely and save on sales tax. (macconnection)
Option B: Wait only 1-2 weeks and pay sales tax. (store.apple.com)

Option A looks less and less attractive as days go by.
 
Ordered iPad2 WiFi 64GB Black from MacConnection on 3/23. Was initially told 2-3 weeks, then 3-4 weeks... has now been 4 weeks and still backordered.

Last week, I got this email in response to a query I sent:

'We are, for the most part, telling customers 2 weeks for the ipad2 deliveries, however we never know when deliveries are expected. I would keep the order until a week or so before you leave on your trip. Honestly, we do not have any advance notice when we are receiving these units.. very sorry. It is somewhat difficult to give you an eta or numbers ahead of you… I would not cancel your order, these were first backordered beginning March 11th. You ordered on March 23rd.. No charge until we ship..
Again, I am sorry cannot provide you with any additional information.'

So... I placed a duplicate order with Apple on 4/15. Estimated delivery date was originally 6 May, but is now 4 May. An Apple rep I spoke with said many deliveries were now shipping a week earlier than scheduled.

I still keep checking 'Order Status' at MacConnection every day.

I ordered this model on the 16th, and a few days later i had a chat session with them. they told me mine will likely ship on the 29th. if so, it would be a little under 2 weeks for mine.
 
I think it would be wise for you all to cancel your pre-orders, but I only say that because I just placed an order for mine (32GB WiFi black) and want to get bumped up the list. :D
 
Surprise!

Not that any of us trust the ETAs provided by macconnection.com or sweetwater.com, but I learned today that my orders with them for 16GB, black, wifi are now expected to ship no earlier than May 6th. The orders were placed April 5th or thereabouts.
 
Long time, anyone know if they have any iPad 2 in stock right now? I'm not getting their pop-up chat anymore.
 
Thanks maybe they'll get some iPad 2's that aren't spoken for and they'll reactivate the chat on Friday then ;-)

Their order status page has the chat link.

I can't get their reps to answer any of the following questions:
  • Have you received any 16GB, wifi, black iPad 2 after I placed the order?
  • How many orders are ahead of mine for this model?
  • Have you ever filled an order for this model?

I really don't care if they take another month to ship. I am in no hurry. I just wish they could set our expectations better. Oh well, I guess that's the price we pay for being cheap and not wanting to pay sales tax. :)

I ordered this on 4/14 and it's still backordered for me.
 
Thanks for the link, this is what they just told me : "64GB White Verizon available, all others on 2/3 weeks backorder"...not very promising :(
 
I'm pretty pathetic. I didn't order until the 24th of April and know I won't likely have the thing for weeks, but I keep checking my order status online like 10 times per day to see if it changes.
 
Just got a shipment confirmation for 16GB Wifi White:)
Ordered on 03/31, 4 weeks total. Though i received my order confirmation email last week, probably got bumped up on the list.
 
Okay.. I placed my order on 4/4 for a black 32GB WiFi iPad2.
It's been backordered status since then. I thought that they were to receive a new batch on 4/29. Well, 4/29 has arrived, and my order is still backordered. What's up with MacConnection???? I'm very tempted to just cancel the order.... :confused:

i placed the same one with on 4/1 .....
still back ordered now.... very disappointed. .:mad:
 
They still have zero stock (chat yesterday) so there must have been a cancellation.
 
I chatted with them earlier today and now they said their next "expected" (pfft!) shipment is 5/4.

Yeah I just called for the heck of it and they said they're expecting a shipment at the end of this week and one at the end of next. They also said not to expect to be part of this week's shipment unless you ordered very early.

btw, the order in question was placed on April 5th for 16GB wifi black.
 
Ordered the 64GB Wifi on 4/10. Just talked with them and they said no shipments arrived today. The new estimated shipments are 5/13-5/20. Tim Cook said they were guaranteeing a lot more supply in May, so here's hoping that the shipment dates will not be moving anymore.

So I ordered my 32gb black wifi ipad2 from B&H on march 31st. These people have the WORST customer service I've ever encountered. I've been calling them for a week now to try and get information on my ipad. They will never tell you when or how much of a shipment they are expecting. They will never tell you where you stand on the wait list. When I ordered my ipad, they told me 2-3 weeks tops. Its been almost 6. When I asked them to upgrade my shipping they flat out said NO. I would never order from them. I've been calling around to see if anyone else has them in stock and by far J&R has been the most helpful. They tell you exactly when and how much of a stock they'll be getting.
