macconnection ipad 2

Thanks for posting this. Ordered a 32 gb AT&T today and they shipped it the same day.
 
Ordered Wed Shipped Fri!

I called MacConnection (spoke with a really nice lady) and ordered 32GB AT&T 3G White on Wednesday afternoon (3/30) and it shipped today (Fri 4/1)! So excited! Thanks for making me aware of this fab place, posters :)
 
I did an online chat with them and they said i was about #200 in line for the 16gb black wifi, they said that was the most popular. Anyone heard something different? I wonder how many shipments they get per week.

When did you place your order?

Mine was made on 3/24 and still no shipment, but I don't know what number I am in line.

(this was posted from my 32gb iPad which shipped the day after order was placed on 3/29)

I ordered a black 64 ATT yesterday and it shipped today (!)

Have a tracking number,, delivery scheduled for Monday :)

Wow.

Btw the very nice lady did tell me that the only model they we having any real trouble with long waiting lists is the 16 wifi model. Sorry guys...
 
Just placed an order for 32gb ATT Black so i'll see how this goes. I also have the same order pending with Apple but this is a much better deal in price and GETTING TO ME!! :D

EDIT: I've already gone from backordered to open *fists pumps*

EDIT 2: It's already been shipped, 2 day shipping, all this in one day!

How bad is the 16GB wifi black backorder?

I have placed a couple of orders of 16GB wifi black for our office with MacConnection.
Order#1 on 4/6 for Qty:4
Order#2 on 4/8 for Qty:1

MacConnection gave me a 2-3 week ETA. But I was also told that they get a shipment every Friday and I might get my orders fulfilled prior to the 2-3 weeks. I also learned that they got no shipment today (4/8) although it is a Friday.

If you have received or waiting to receive this model from MacConnection, could you please post your order date. I'm curious as to how backlogged they are for this model. Their reps aren't able to give me that information.

I contacted MacConnection yesterday and their rep said that Apple has told them not to expect any 16GB wifi black at least until Apr 21.
 
I reached out to them and they said they are not getting anything in until the 22nd now...my order was placed on the 18th of March...still waiting

I hope they ship yours by the 22nd. You ordered yours almost three weeks before I did. When I asked them today, they gave me April 29th as a possible date.

I also placed an order with sweetwater.com as a backup. They are authorized by Apple to sell iPads. They are also a no tax, no shipping fee dealer. Their reps seem to be nice and prompt with followups. When I told them that I have an order with MacConnection and that I would go with whomever ships to me first, the rep was nice and diligent enough to say "I'll put a note on your order to not ship before calling you so you don't end up with two shipments."

Sweetwater.com thinks they MIGHT get some tomorrow. Perhaps you can order there as a backup to MacConnection.

I have never ordered from sweetwater.com. In fact, I didn't even know they existed until last week. So this is not an endorsement, other than the fact that they have been pleasant to deal with so far.

ordered on March 20th
Was told 2-3 weeks. Called today and was told none till at least April 22.
I should have known 3 weeks was not going to happen.
Anyone else having wait time problems with black wifi?

Called both MacConnection and sweetwater.com regarding backordered 16GB, wifi, black. They didn't get anything today.

New ETA by sweetwater.com: April 25.
New ETA by macconnection.com: April 20 to April 29.

I don't think they really know anyway. Apple supposedly doesn't tell them how much of what they will ship or when. So all these ETAs are really not worth anything.
 
I ordered a black 16GB AT&T on April 7th. I was told at that time that Macconnection expected a 'large' shipment on April 15th 'that would cover all their backorders, including mine'. Today, I called in and was informed that they expected iPad deliveries (to them) in the next one to two weeks...hopefully.
 
yeah i got the same response so I cancelled my order today, luckily my campus bookstore finally got a shipment in yesterday so I picked up a 32 GB Wifi this morning, loving it!
 
I ordered mine on 4/6 at pcconnectionexpress.com (via phone). 16GB AT&T white. They said they'd fulfill the order on 4/15 Friday, but it still shows backordered. :(

I think we are all learning how useless their estimates are.

btw, a few days ago, I called maczone.com and they had plenty of 16GB white wifi in stock. You might want to try them to see if they have ATT. But I think they only sell to businesses. Might be worth the call.

Elusive dates

For the 16GB Wifi Black order I placed with MacConnection about 3 weeks ago, the elusive shipping date is still "backordered 2-3 weeks". sweetwater.com is hoping for April 29th now.
 
For the 16GB wifi, Macconnection says they may get some in on April 29, but then again they may not. Apple should communicate a little better with vendors.
