The best way to do it is to send an email to yourself on your text email address. You can also sign up with a non-text email on machookup.com and if you get a regular email notification but not the text something's off.
I've noticed a couple people had this question. One solution might be to send a confirmation email/text immediately after signing up. Something like "Hey thanks for signing up for AirPods alerts. You will get an alert as soon as a nearby store has AirPods in stock."

Not sure how hard it would be to implement but it might set some minds at ease.

Yep, makes sense. Will look into it!

@machookup Thank you so much for this tool! Ever since Jan 19 I have been driving myself crazy trying to check the Apple Store app every day between noon and 4p to see if I can catch a pair before they sell out. Sadly, since signing up Thurs night I haven't received any messages -- have to assume there just haven't been any new shipments to the Apple Stores in my area... (I'm in the greater Los Angeles area, which has lots of Apple Stores but also probably a ton of people looking for AirPods. If anyone else here is in LA and has received a msg yesterday or today pls let me know.)

Wondering if there's any way you could build a version of the tool for other retailers like Target.com, verizon/tmobile/att.com, BestBuy.com, etc. Because I'm still checking those sites obsessively like an idiot while I wait to hear from the Apple Store!

I've thought about other stores too, but it'll require more work than I have time for at the moment. Maybe later! I will probably add the next hot ticket Apple item (Mac Pro?) to the site when it launches and might add more stores then.

I signed up for this service and not a single text/email regarding availability of the AirPods. o_O

There hasn't been any availability at all over the last few days, except in Canada.

This is how I got mine last week. Heard nothing for a day or two, then all the Apple stores around me started getting in shipments. Worked beautifully.. :)

How hard would it be to add Apple Watch? I've been searching for a S2 SpaceBlack and they are non existent along with most other models right now.

As I was typing I thought to search and I found idevicechecker but I'm not sure how often the tool checks.

Great tool. I know you have made many ears happy.

It only shows iPhones and Apple watches they don't seem they show airpods

I tried using idevicechecker for iPhone 7 but it didn't really work. In the end I just ended up getting lucky on an istocklive refresh. I'll try to put some time aside to make these improvements but can't promise anything. I do hope Apple starts releasing stock soon because there are hundreds of (understandably impatient) signups on the list!

Yeah, it's not showing Apple stores with Apple Watch that do show up on istocknow. I signed up but I'll be checking behind it.

No specific times, but for US zips there are very few overnight.

It looks like some notifications went out for east coast zips between 7 and 8:30 AM PT this morning. Keeping fingers crossed for the west coast!
