macOS 10.12 Sierra: All The Little Things!

How does optimized storage work? How do iCloud-only files look like locally? Any selective sync/always keep local/always keep offline options? Very curious about it and would love to see screenshots of all the menus and options.

Yeah, I actually like the idea of being able to selectively sync some folders.

I don't like the idea of an "all or nothing" approach. Also, my Desktop is frequently where I might put a large file temporarily before deleting it, I specifically DON'T want the Desktop synced for that reason. The last thing I need is my iCloud storage filling up because I put an 80GB file on my desktop overnight.

I've got a specific question, although, it is not completely related to macOs sierra:
Im thinking of testing the preview on my 2nd installed ssd (replaced optical in mbp 13, mid 2012), but was wondering one thing: if theres a efi bootrom firmware update that comes with Sierra, could that cause trouble with El cap, on my other SSD? Or, are firmware updates completely backwards compatible?

Simple; if you update to a new (mac)OS(x). You get the huge 1GB file on your computer which it saves for installing a new copy of the OS. Now it will ask/prompt/suggest to remove it to save some space. Smart move as 90% of the users don't need this file after updating.

Sort of confused myself I was sure I got last year's el cap review this way, but it seems to work for beta updates only. I set my catalog with it, and nothing appears in app store, so...
