did you disabled SIP? I think this issue doesn't happen if have it disabled

SIP (system integrity protection; for those who don't know) was whatever it was. I neither activated/deactivated it. In any case, running post-install from USB restored keyboard/touchpad.

I still really do not understand why Apple pulled support for Macs that still can run current MacOS. Most people won't buy a new computer just to update OS. So the out of date software piles up and makes Apple look crummy and "fragmented". I know my MBP5,2 (2009) runs OS10.12 as well as or better than OS10.11.

I had my doubts too but @dosdude1 and @foxlet quickly gave me responses and If you read a few pages back you'll se theses tools work in pretty clean way. Anyway, if you're too sensitive about security you shouldn't be using unsupported software in the first place.

Well, really don't have a choice. Apple won't make another 17" and don't want anything smaller and don't have the money to update anyway. Shame on Apple for not allowing the OS to run on perfectly good hardware! I may be cheating as I have an SSD in mine when it shipped with a standard HD back in 2009 so maybe that is why though. But this sadly will probably be my last OS upgrade on this hardware.

There is no any updates in my Mac Pro? Then I read this thread and figure it out..
Running AUSEnabler -> and now I can see updates.
Successfully updated Mac Pro 2008 -> 10.12.1

Thanks foxlet an dosdude !!

I might note that @dosdude1 wasn't involved in any part of the AUS or AUSEnabler. It seems some people are getting it confused.

Updated my macmini 3,1 yesterday. The process was smoothly and my computer is running fine. I used the AUSEnabler just after the system installation, so the updated was found normaly.

I backed up my early 2008 3,1 last night using carbon copy cloner, had to do the recovery partition a second time to take.
Did the update using AUSEnabler
Upon reboot I lost bluetooth so I shut down, unplugged power held the power button for 30 seconds, powered back and did PRAM reset until I heard the chime 3 times (holding command, option, P , R keys all at once) and bluetooth and all working great!
!!!!!! Thank You !!!!!!

Hi!
Updated my MacBook Pro 5.3 to 10.12.1 and lost everything USB after normal boot (worked fine in recovery partition boot). Reapplying post install patch threw "not a legit Sierra install" (or similar). Thankfully reinstalling 10.12. worked.
I also tried clearing caches, terminal messagges in the attachment...

Hi,

Just did the 10.12.1 update on a MacBook Pro 4,1 (Early 2008) using the AUSEnabler.

The result is an updated MacBook Pro.
I am using my iPhone 6 Plus as a hotspot connected by an USB cable.
I am not experiencing any USB problems...

MacOS Sierra 10.12.1.jpeg

I will try my bluetooth headset later today...

did the 10.12.1 update early this morning, used the AUS enabler when I did the original install so it told me about the update last night but I was needing to use the computer and didn't want to risk an issue so I wanted to wait to do it when I got home last night but forgot, did it while I took my dog out this morning and it seems to be working fine and about this Mac shows 10.12.1 so it must be updated. my laptop is a MacBook 5,2 mid 2009.

I have an iMac 8,1 (Early 2008), and of course I had the volume control issues when upgrading to Sierra. However using the El Cap kexts, along with the procedures outlined above to repair permissions on the kexts and rebuilding the cache worked to fix the problem for me. I now have volume control again. Thanks for this!

Can u please upload the kexts ?

A while ago i installed Sierra, using the patch from "dosdude1", perfectly on my iMac (mid-2009). I have experienced no problem sinds then. Yesterday i used the "AUSEnabler" to get system update 10.12.1 through the Apple update service and also worked perfect. My system is now updated to Sierra 10.12.1 without any problem. Everything is working fine.

I am running Sierra on MBP mid 2009; up to now everything runs fine. What I would like to know is the following:
1) What has the patch tool done in my case, so that Sierra can run on my machine now?
2) I installed with Sierra patch tool 4.1.6, currently available is 4.1.8. In which case do I need an updated Sierra patch tool?
3) Is there a possibility to update an USB-Stick with patched Sierra to a more actual/current version of the Sierra patch tool? In this case it wouldn't be necessary to completely "make" an new stick.

It's me again. I have just re-installed the operating system, then the Audio Patch Installs. Everything worked flawlessly.

Now I have upgraded to 10.12.1. And the scratchy audio is back.

Now if I want to install the patch again get the message: "The Volume "Mac" does not appear to contain a valid copy of macOS Sierra".

EDIT: After Force Rebuild audio is working.

Hi.
I want to know if are there any plan to do the wifi card works on a Early 2008 iMac using the original Apple Hardware.

Unfortunately my English is very poor and I read very slowly and I have no enough free time to read 140 pages :(

Thanks for your answer and for your time.

Macbook Pro 5,1 (Late 2008)

10.12.1 Update went fine (AUSEnabler)

//

Had trouble before when battery went flat and macbook turned off.
Mouse and trackpad didn't work after reboot.

-> Boot with patched installer usb drive, turnoff SIP with terminal ("csrutil disable")
-> Dosdudes Patch Tool > Force Cache Rebuild

Thanks for the help!

Installed Sierra on my Early 2009 iMac a few weeks ago. Ran into the loss of mouse and keyboard issues after 2 days. No fix worked. Had to reinstall El Cap from a backup. After following this thread and seeing the recommendation of disabling SIP, I decide to try again. All has been good for 5 days. Again, thank you dosdude!

Now I see updates are/might be available. Can someone point me in the right direction on the best way to do these? THANKS!
