Hi all,

after running the AUSEnabler, I get the badge indicating that updates are available however they are not listed. Restarted, signed out and in, any further ideas?

I have exactly the same issue. The AppStore badge shows multiple updates but they do not show up in the list of updates. The Sierra update does not show at all. WTH???? Any help would be appreciated @foxlet

What does "sudo softwareupdate --list" in Terminal show? I can't reproduce that bug on my end.

Terminal finds the update.

Terminal finds the update.

If the subsystem can find it, you can use "sudo softwareupdate -i -r" to install it. Otherwise I would suggest resetting the catalog back to Apple's, running "sudo softwareupdate --list" (to clear cache), restarting, then trying AUSEnabler again.

You already have macOS Sierra 10.12.1 according to that list, anything outside of that is a bug on Apple's part.

AUSEnabler has a "reset catalogs" function to help in case that such a problem arises.

For those who want an UI to switch to AUS in order to get further Sierra updates, now exists AUSEnabler

After selecting a catalog, just open the App Store and update away!
*Note: The app requires a working internet connection to fetch the latest catalog URLs.

After doing this I still cannot update from the App Store to 10.12.1.
I see that there are 9 updates but the rest of the page is completely blanc.
I have an early 2009 iMac 24 inch. with 10.12 installed

That's odd... That card should work fine. Do you still have the original Radeon HD 2600 or GeForce 8800GT card your machine came with? If so, I'd try installing that, and then give it a try.

I don't. Nothing here to test it. Will look for one.

(BTW - I purchased the Mac Pro without a GPU. I had already purchased the 5770 for an external GPU experiment to help an early 2006 Mac Mini (which served me well - until it didn't because graphics) and as it turned out the 2008 Mac Pro happened to be the most economical power supply and housing combo - with the bonus I could toss the Mac mini.

But, thinking back I have wondered if the Dell version of the 5770 is possibly unique from other PC 5770's? First the heatsink was abut an inch too big to fit in the Mac Pro (HA! I also happen to own a hacksaw, and so that didn't deter me one bit) but seriously that makes it less likely anyone else even has one in a Mac, and I've had my share of beachballs and restarts too - stuff I had been previously attributing to known outdated bluetooth (waiting on replacement to arrive) a If I had a working Radeon HD 2600 it would be great but DK even a used one is close to the price of a new AMD Radeon RX 460? but most info seems to be from hackintosh or gamer oriented sites?)

Maybe more prudent thing would be to stay on El Capitan and save my money for a newer Mac Pro?

I did not run AUSupdate utility ... just the initial VRAM patch to make my macPro 4.1 display 5.1...

App store DID show me the various 10.12.1 bet previews, which I ignore -
tho I did install the final (public) 10.12.1 release earlier this week ...
now, I got an alert but nothing shows.

My App store shows 5 updates available - but shows nothing when I try to show updates ...
I tried the sudo command and only 2 show in terminal -

sudo softwareupdate --list

Hello
So I have my old MacPro 3.1 running beautifully on Sierra, thanks to the people here.
I have just downloaded the 12.1 update from the Apple Downloads page,
but it will not install as it says this system is not supported. I am curious to know how I can get this installed
particularly because I like to keep a copy of the update .dmgs for future use, rather than relying on the App Store which is too unreliable with drop outs etc.
I do have the AUSEnabler app by foxlet and can download the update if need be.

Just wondering how I can get a manual update to be accepted, I'm thinking it may be to do with the platform support list.

Any ideas folks.

Came back with:
Software Update found the following new or updated software:

* iTunesXPatch-12.5.2

iTunes (12.5.2), 145964K [recommended]

Now this is weird as the AppStore banner says there are 7 updates but I cannot see any of them. WTH?

I was having similar problems in regards to updates.

Ran the AUSEnabler tool and it worked perfectly, this morning I booted my MBP up, downloaded and installed Xcode and Sierra update perfectly fine no problems.

Launched iTunes to play some music and it showed me an update was available 12.5.2. Took me to the App Store which then showed me no updates were available. I had to run AUSEnabler to remove the patch reset back to Apple catalog, which then showed the update for iTunes. Downloaded this and then reran the patch to change the catalog once again.

Ah, yeah, or that. I may see if I can write something similar in C++, just to allow OS X to run it more natively (even though it really doesn't matter all that much).

I wrote a small dyld (in C), and added it to DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES section in /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.softwareupdated.plist. It's simply patch sysctl request, to softwareupdated thinks this is a Virtual Machine (VMM). I am checked all current catalogue files and preinstall/postinstall scripts, it's seems to be the safest method. If i modify the patch to patch board id and model id, thats method fails when a firmware update comes and the installer try to update it (it's occurs boot loop, and requires a pram reset). It's works fine when i disable SIP only with the '--without debug' option. Patched kexts is also works with SIP when i sign all of the kexts with my own mac developer key.

Yes, apparently this is some type of Mac App Store bug with some Macs running the final version of macOS 10.12.1 (or maybe an Apple server issue), and not related to AUSEnabler itself. I have a machine with the 10.12.1 Beta that doesn't exhibit this issue, so I'm assuming it got introduced sometime then.

Edit: The bug affects official Macs, it is not related to AUSEnabler. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7723736

Back on the Mac and it's back to normal. Looks like a App store bug indeed. Thanks for the prompt help earlier!

I am having the exact same problem. OS update is shown using AUSEnabler, but itunes update is not, unless I reset the catalogs.

You should be able to use it now.

Testing it in Sierra, your attempt doesn't seem to work. It's only proxying requests and replacing the catalog's resource URLs, which isn't actually enough to present blocked Sierra updates under SoftwareUpdate (they remain missing).

I tested the local AUS server to make sure there wasn't some conflict in the way:

what are you doing differently in your code?

I’ve gotten it to work! I removed my aftermarket GTX 980 (it wasn’t connected to a display), put my GT 120 in the first PCIe slot, and put the USB installer in my back set of USB ports instead of the front. She’s purring like a dream now, and the updater even works. Great stuff. I’m sure when Steve said that the post-PC world was approaching, he didn’t mean to shove a rake up Mac owners’… well, you know, while they were still being sold.

Just one thing; I can’t seem to get any files to drag+scroll smoothly in Finder.
