And which function is not working? If your internet connection or Apple's servers are over loaded, the patch can't help with it. Wait until everything restores to normal (everyone wan't to install updates).

it just does not checks for a new updates and sees only some old update for ms rdp. when i click update it stucks on downloading and app store stops responding

That patch not modify anything on Mac App Store. It's only modify/patch the good old softwareupdated daemon, thath only responsible for Apple's OSX updates. You can try it, simply comment out (or remove) the dyld lines on the end of /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.softwareupdated.plist (and restart softwareupdated or reboot). Maybe, you need to wait until everything go back to normal.

Hi All: Just a little confused here. I ran the patch that DosDude uploaded a few pages ago in terminal - it seem to run and got the message in terminal to "reboot". I rebooted the computer, but the apple App store says I have no updates available , trying to update from Sierra 10.12.2 - thanks in advance for any help in this matter. I installed Sierra from a clean install of Sierra 10.12.2 so this would be my first update - just not quite sure of the steps or what I misses - thanks!
Running on Late 2008 MacBook Pro

Just looked here after systems notice for 10.12.3 - still using "AUS App" instead of the script. Maybe there was only just a small delay...

Edit: After reboot it won't apply 10.12.3... but loaded via appstore. After another reboot, 10.12.3 disappeared from store. After looking for updates on cli, it showed up again, downloaded again and successfully installed, now.

What was the "reply of the command? Here it was:

virk-24:Release Heiner$ softwareupdate -l
Software Update Tool
Copyright 2002-2015 Apple Inc.
Finding available software
Software Update found the following new or updated software:
* macOS Sierra Update-10.12.3
macOS Sierra Update (10.12.3), 1024181K [recommended] [restart]
virk-24:Release Heiner$

10.12.3 shows up in appstore. I will (try to) install later.

i let it run for like 30 mins with no results. only thing i am noticing is this in console

AMFI: allowing exception handler for 'softwareupdated' (656) because SIP is disabled.
[doublepost=1485244547][/doublepost]ok, so i gave up and copy com.apple.softwareupdated.plist from backup and now everything works fine, so this script cause the problem
