Is there already a "how to" for Kaby Lake System for hackintosh? I might me in the wrong threat here, but I would really love to try it out with my motherboard. The last working Hackintosh I had was in 2009 with a kernel patched Snow Leopard on it and a Pentium 4 Cedar Mill (that was pretty awesome by the way).

aboutthismacpentium4.png
I seen some guys over at insanelymac posting about it on the 10.13 thread. Clover and smbios and everything are there

I tried everything, but it always just got stuck at the beginning of the boot screen. Maybe I have to wait for the next Mac OS update, or my mortherboard isn't "compatible enough"
Being an "early adaptor" is hell sometimes. :) However, since the new iMacs are Kaby Lake powered, we're expecting support in 10.12.6 as well as 10.13. Another "hurry up and wait" process is waiting for Nvidia to come out with their drivers after an update. So, ....soon.

@dosdude1

i made a patcher for night shift
it *might* need xcode installed for nm command bu I can't remember

Code:
#!/bin/bash
sudo bash << 'EOF'
python -c "import sys;sys.stdout.write('\x01\0\0\0'*6)" | dd bs=1 conv=notrunc count=24 of=/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreBrightness.framework/CoreBrightness seek=$((0x`nm /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreBrightness.framework/CoreBrightness|grep -m 1 _ModelMinVersion | cut -d ' ' -f 1`))
codesign -f -s - /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreBrightness.framework/Versions/Current/CoreBrightness
touch /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreBrightness.framework/CoreBrightness
sync
update_dyld_shared_cache
reboot
EOF

You should be able to use it now.

Testing it in Sierra, your attempt doesn't seem to work. It's only proxying requests and replacing the catalog's resource URLs, which isn't actually enough to present blocked Sierra updates under SoftwareUpdate (they remain missing).

I tested the local AUS server to make sure there wasn't some conflict in the way:

i know this is a super old post but, why doesn't my java thing work? what was AUSEnabler doing that is different?

Hello Gentleman's !

i know, it's a dumb question but...

i was hesitating to upgrade my AirPort card in one of my machines (Mini Early 2009) for full compatibility with Sierra. Now, it seems to be, that High Sierra will be also "compatible" with our older machines, i had ordered the "new" AirPort card. I asked here, and i also received an answer (as always, THX!) with exact serial number from compatible AirPort card + with user @redheeler also used in the same machine (the serial of Airport was BCM943224PCIEBT). The number of card which i bought is BCM943224PCIEBT2. It is on the way to me (it takes some time...), not received yet, but im not sure now, if its there some difference because of this number "2" at the end. I don't care, if i need to "throw away" this card because it should not be used in Mini, but it will be great to know if i need to search/find some other card (this is the difficult part...).

Thank you again !

Greetings, Ronnie

Well, you only had to search this thread to find the eBay link. :)

Here it is again...they ship worldwide. No idea if the BT2 card will work or not (why gamble?) - cancel your order for it if you can.

I fixed it, it was a problem with my graphics card. Thanks for your reply! ;)
Hello, I have a Mac Pro 2008 and I have the same problems. Slow Google Maps, some sites that does not render correctly.
Please can you tell me what fix you apply?

Thank you

Hello, my MacOsSierra 10.12.5 works fine. Thanks to Dosdude1, one question: after starting Sierra
there comes always the sign: There is no CD ... and the CD case opens. I click ignore then its good. Is it possible to avoid this message and open the cd case? Waiting for ideas.
Thank you.

I am running a 3.1 dual 3.2 MacPro with the ATI 5770 card and no issues on 10.12.4.

I am still waiting to upgrade to 10.12.5 or may just wait until 10.12.6 comes out.

I went ahead and updated to 10.12.5 from the App Store update without any issues.

I am the original owner of this 2008 Mac Pro and really hate to give it up as it still works great for my needs.

I let the battery died on my MB 5,2 with .5 and now when I boot the screen goes black as soon as it hits the desktop.

EDIT: I forgot Brightness Slider had shortcuts and I got the brightness up. Lol.

Apologies for the delay in replying. Your advice worked perfectly, back in my system and working flawlessly once again. Many thanks

Hi, I had the same problem and running macOS POST install helped me. Glad that your problem is solved too.
Question: Were you on 10.12.5 or on previous version? There is an update and I'm bit scared how it is going to run.

Has there been any update as to whether we will be able to update our unsupported Macs from Sierra to High Sierra?

For the creation I use macOS Sierra Patcher Tool version 4.2.7 and install macOS Sierra.app 10.12.4 (Build 16E195) version 12.4.06 which includes:

Thank you all!

The kernel in the patcher is for 10.12.5, so check it again with 10.12.5 installer.
[doublepost=1498570790][/doublepost]@dosdude: can you implement some sha hash checking to force users to run the patch with the maching Sierra installer?

Sure?

I noticed that macOS Sierra Patcher version 4.2.7 was released on April 5, 2017 and macOS Sierra 10.12.5 was released on May 15, 2017...

Thank you for the quick response

Edit: Thank you @Czo ! With version 10.12.5 the creation of USB bootable pendrive and subsequent installation on an external hard drive has been successfully completed!

Now I can start all compatibility tests, thank you again!

Hello all. I have an early 2008 Macbook Pro, currently running El Capitan. I would like to upgrade to Sierra, but this will kill my wifi. Are there any wifi cards I can use to replace my existing card so that I can upgrade?

You didn't say what size. (not certain that it's the same card for all of the models). For the 17" (MBP4,1), you can get the mCard 2 from QuickerTek and it will give you both 802.11AC as well as BLE 4.0 (and works well with the continuity enhancements in Sierra - i.e. unlock with apple watch, etc).
http://quickertek.com/product/mcard/

It's a little pricey (now $119 US).

And, so you know what's involved in doing the replacement, the ifixit guide: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/MacBoo...29+and+A1261+AirPort+Extreme+Replacement/2184

And, yes, the 17" actually has a third antennae available, so you could get the mCard 3, but it's a little thicker...producing a bit of a bulge in the aluminum top/keyboard surface.

If you have a different size, I'd suggest you message them to confirm: support@quickertek.com.

Excellent, thank you! I'm not entirely sure if the size. I do know it's not a 13", so either the 15" or 17". I'll check them out.

Is there not an option to buy a wifi card from a newer MacBook Pro? Like a 2010 or 2012?

Hopefully I'm in the right place for this...

I ran AUSenabler today to update to 10.12.5. I skipped the extra steps recommended from going from 10.12.3 to .4 and now its doing that thing that it does occasionally where basically no input devices will work. I forgot to update recovery too so thats out. Do I have any options outside of backing up my data and reformatting? I use this computer for work at both the office and for DJ'ing. I can fix it but I want to see if there are any less painstaking alternatives.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Mid 2009 MBP 17" btw

Edit 2: Actually just realized all I needed to do was to create another patched installer using the patcher program, follow the steps, and reinstall. All is well now. Carry on! :^D

Hello, I have a Mac Pro 2008 and I have installed macOS Sierra but I have a problem with the superdrive eject.
If I push the eject button on the keyboard the superdrive try to eject the tray but the door does not open it (I hear the engine that try to eject).
If I push the button the second time it's work without problems.
This happen every time, first push nothing, second push work.
Is not a random problem.

Any suggestion?

Thank you

Sorry, missed the second question. Nope. Different interfaces with newer cards.

Does it act the same when you try to eject the drive in Finder?
Did it have the same behaviour on El Capitan? When did it start?

I just tried my 3.1 Mac Pro wired keyboard and the eject button is working as it should (running 10.12.5).
