Maybe, something was wrong with Software Update, because i have multiple Sierra installations on multiple Macs (one unsupported MacBookPro and two supported iMac) but neither is showing beta2 in App Store. I'm not the only one: https://forums.developer.apple.com/thread/50917
I read through and tried a few of the things others tried but in the end I'm still too noob to this part to do anything with it. I still need my hand held on most of this. I can install and update regular releases no issue of course but when it comes to making software work that is not supposed to I have to follow a guide like the one here. I'm learning though and that's the main reason for following along.

just to comment my vmware hackintosh install updated fine and offered to turn on automagic updates. However keep in mind although this is a hackintosh, the cpu is able to run sierra without patches.

I can't even get it to install on a supported machine, what the heck? It just says "No packages eligible for install".

Can you upload the "Info.plist" of the Public Beta app? I need to update the tool to support it.
[doublepost=1467913587][/doublepost]Nevermind, I got it. The tool has been updated for the macOS Sierra Public Beta App. http://dosdude1.com/sierra/macOS Sierra Patcher.zip
Did you get it to work with the public beta? I got it to work with DP1 but can't get public beta to work...says cannot be installed. The operation couldn't be completed. Function not implemented.

Yeah, I'm working on that right now. Should be done within the next hour or so.

Alright, it's now fixed. Sierra Public Beta now installs and works on unsupported Macs with the latest version of the tool. http://dosdude1.com/sierra/macOS Sierra Patcher.zip
You rock, dude! Great work.

Unfortunately I'm unable to give it a try right now, as I can't download the macOS Sierra Public Beta on my unsupported MBP (mid 2009, MacBookPro5,5). I'll have to get it on my brother-in-law's iMac, which is supported, as soon as I get a chance to visit him. Unless there is another way...

Can't wait! :)

I have a copy uploading to MEGA right now. PM me your email address and I'll give you the link. (Same goes for anyone else who needs a copy.)

Cheers dosdude, is this something that you think will be repeated next update, or do you think those should work?

First , kudos. This is great work and we all appreciate it. I've reinstalled Sierra DP1 using a stick built with your patcher many times with great success (pro 3,1). Is the post-install always necessary after the first install? I've had to re-baseline my OS after some direct-link attempts for beta2 (sigh), and I never had to wipe the partition. Is there a detailed description of the post-install system/kext changes etc...? Just curious about all the magic under the hood to be prepared if I have any driver issues.

Thanks again.

Both my sierra installs are now downloading a 1.0 recovery partition update.. this happening for anyone else? Just to note I do have a paid developer license

Yeah, the post install is necessary. It sets the install up to bypass the board-ID check, and installs @parrotgeek1's LegacyUSBInjector kext (plus whatever else you select).

I believe this to be the case but have not done this step yet. I moved my SSD over to an enclosure, connected it to my Mini, upgraded then put it back in the MBP. I planned to run the patch tool but booted instead. Everything seems to work fine, is there anything I should be looking for before I go back to the step of running your post install tool? Do I need it?

OK, so my late 2008 Unibody MacBook Pro which says in the graphic is perfect, won't install Sierra. It's downloaded in app store, and when I click on the download button it says it can't be installed on this machine. What? Grrrrrr.........

Ideas anyone??

Ok makes sense. Will check out parrotgeek's work. About to install the public beta. Wondering if the software update will magically work now...what a pain...

I am not sure if this will help with the App store updates thing but I just looked at my updates that are available on a macbook pro early 2008 unsupported - and although I dont have a Beta 2 available - I do have a macOS Recovery HD Update 1.0 which is only availalbe to Sierra users?
