You must have an older version of the tool (I made some changes after making that post). Re-download and create your drive again. The macOS Post Install is not showing up...any ideas what I might have done wrong. Ive done this before with DP1...

Ah, you're right. Found a minor mistake in my code. Fixed now, and link has been updated. Sorry about that.Okay...unless I deleted the wrong one I downloaded the newest link you posted.
Hi - downloaded the latest patcher and created a new OS X Base System, but the menus have disappeared, replaced by question marks. Even the apple menu is non-responsive. It seems like I can initiate an install, but without the menu bar it's kinda pointless to access the post-install right? Have to say, I was bold and ran your patcher under Sierra DP1. Could that be the cause?Ah, you're right. Found a minor mistake in my code. Fixed now, and link has been updated. Sorry about that.

OK, so my late 2008 Unibody MacBook Pro which says in the graphic is perfect, won't install Sierra. It's downloaded in app store, and when I click on the download button it says it can't be installed on this machine. What? Grrrrrr.........
Ideas anyone??
Well rebooted into it and now the menu is there...reinstalling now. Thanks everyone! Especially @dosdude1The macOS Post Install is not showing up...any ideas what I might have done wrong. Ive done this before with DP1...

I got the original DP 1 from the dark side and was able to update it from the instructions in post # 1051 #1051thanks thats good news , software updates are showing in appstore?did u get the public beta update in appstore ?

Yes, DP 2 Beta Sierra did show up in MAS.
Yeah, I'm more of a bleeder than some of the developers here.
Hope this helps.
Oh thanks.. one more question r u able to update MAS updates without patch tool?
Hey!
How can I download the Mac OS Sierra installer if my only Mac is unsupported?
I have enrolled my (unsupported) MBP at beta.apple.com and I was able to redeem the code and get the public beta to show in my Downloads in the App Store... Is there any workaround to download it? It is preventing me with an message that my MBP is unsupported of course
You can't... The only way to get the installer is with a supported mac at this point. dosdude1 has uploaded a copy of the installer online, pm him and ask for it ;-)

At this point there is no workaround, for now you have to get an installer from a supported mac, pm dosdude1 for it because he has a copy of the installer uploaded ;-)
thanks once again for the upload and for the patcher it works perfectly
One question tho, did a fresh install, and a update showed up on the Mac app store (as shown above in a printscreen), I installed it, I didn't require a reboot tho... It went good, everything works.
Was this just a coincidence, or just because being a public beta updates aren't as "picky" as developer updates?
Another thing that I noticed, is once you install the public beta, then on the Mac App Store it lets you download the beta installer LOL
Hey guys!
I wanna try the following:
1) Get the new patcher, patch the DP1 installer and write it to a USB drive.
2) Install the DP2 update on my MacBook5,1 thru a .pkg file.
3) Boot from the USB, launch the post install tool and patch the system.
4) Boot Sierra DP2.
Could it work?
