First I've heard of this. Screenshots?Yeah, that's been the case with non-Dark Mode.

Whyyyyy. Just let it die already, Apple!
Exactly I also love Dashboard. It's so much faster and usable as the Notfification centre. Maybe with the Ios apps on Mac the Option to take the Widgets from Ios and to integrate them in Dashboard would be awesome. Or even complete low ressources apps.I use it every day for several widgets such as: currency exchange rate, stock market pricing, working out prices inc/ex Tax, a radio widget that plays BBC radio without having to open a web browser, time code calculator for video work, weather etc etc.
If you don't find Dashboard useful then just turn it off, there is an option in the Mission Control preference pane.

Where is the harm in keeping the Dashboard around when you can just, you know, completely disable it and literally never have it affect your everyday usage? As niche as it is, there are still people out there who find it useful. Dropping it would be a downside to them, keeping it around isn't a downside to anyone when it literally never gets in your way unless you want it to.Whyyyyy. Just let it die already, Apple!
Back in Leopard, I changed the name of my 'Trash' to 'Cråp.' I wonder if this can still be done in recent versions of OSX.

If I recall correctly, they showed back then that the menu bar and the menus themselves adapt to the background picture, but that's essentially to their slight transparency.I've just tried using some different wallpapers and Digital Color Meter - light mode definitely stays the same shade of grey, whereas dark mode changes. Weird, as I would have thought they would have done it with the light mode too, unless the behaviour has changed in Mojave.
SO awesome. Thanks for showing some screenshots. I looked at several reviews which never even mentioned this feature (even though it's in plain sight).

You can only use the dynamic wallpaper if you're in Light Mode? I understand that the UI has to alter, but I don't see why keeping it dark should force the wallpaper from altering. Well, anyway... not a huge deal.

It would be nice if the colored accent were to appear on a given selected Finder pane.
[doublepost=1528250914][/doublepost]
That is a MUCH more attractive 3D effect on those buttons. The utter flatness of the current ones is disgusting.
EDIT: or, perhaps, does it appear that way simply because the dark appearance makes things look more dramatic?
[doublepost=1528251153][/doublepost]
That is what I was thinking as well: the dark appearance makes the shadows look more dramatic. Well, either way, it looks substantially better.

Good—good. Apple is actually going back to their older roots with some of these changes: accent colors; no stupid blurred login screen; software-updater back in its original location (Sys Prefs).
[doublepost=1528251550][/doublepost]
Thanks for being the first to show them all! All those n00b tech-reviewers couldn't do such a simple thing as this (and they also left out several good features in their reviews, mainly focusing on Dark Mode).
How do you change the size of launchpad?How do you guys use the launchpad icons so big?
It's actually the first thing I change when installing new OS...
I match my app icons size to the icons on the dock
Lol I use my hackintosh on a 40" 4k Screen. As long as you cant add new rows to the Launchpad this would look ridiculous on my screenHow do you guys use the launchpad icons so big?

How is the blurred background “stupid”? It looks way better. The new login screen looks like Windows with that giant text.

Actually I think the old one looked way better. Its not to hide something its an design element...I don't know, I just don't understand the point of the blurred background. Is it to keep one's desktop wallpaper private? I like seeing a wallpaper at login—not some abstract chroma.

I just told you the reason why they blurred the image...I tried editing the Launchpad size to the following: defaults write com.apple.dock springboard-columns -int 10;defaults write com.apple.dock springboard-rows -int 10;defaults write com.apple.dock ResetLaunchPad -bool TRUE;killall Dock
However, for some reason, my applications are all scattered: the majority sit on the SECOND page of Launchpad, in alphabetical order, while the remainders sit on the first and third pages of Launchpad.

I see no reason in blurring the wallpaper if the login window is supposed to elegantly display the wallpaper. I've used OSX since 2003; it only attained this blurred garbage recently.
[doublepost=1528400536][/doublepost]
Wow, how did you do that? Is that high contrast mode?
I just told you the reason why they blurred the image...
I still cant really stand the new look and will most likely make it blurry again and hope at some point you can change the login size.
Wow so because you don't like it, it's immediately silly.The reason you gave me was that it was a design element. Of course it's a design element—I know this. IMO, it's a silly design element. I'm glad that Apple is going back to their older roots by reversing some of these stupid features. I love that, for example, software updates have been moved back to Sys Prefs; and, I think it's cool that, for the first time since OS9, we have color accents. Similarly, the blurred login window is no more: we can see our wallpapers again.
I don't want to see a blurred version of my wallpaper. I wear glasses so that my screen ISN'T blurry. If I wanted to see a blurred version of my wallpaper, I'd take my glasses off.
Wow so because you don't like it, it's immediately silly.
You couldn't have just said you prefer it this way...
Dude you"re quite funny. Saying "IT'S" silly is not an Opinion. If you say, I think it is silly would be an Opinion...I can give my opinion on it. Saying that it's silly is an opinion; although, I think I still have a pretty good case for why it was a good decision for Apple to go back to what they had been doing for YEARS.
I'm pretty sure it is the bright Mojave wallscreen whatever you choose. I have the dark one in my account but login screen is always bright. But I think this might also change with future beta version.Dude you"re quite funny. Saying "IT'S" silly is not an Opinion. If you say, I think it is silly would be an Opinion...
And just because they did something in the past this doesn't mean it is still the best decision. If they restarted to make blue plastic macs would you say that would be great too?
And by the way the both wallpapers are not comparable @ all the old desktop wasnt really a picture it was just blue with some graphics in it. The new wallpapers are full of details and are 4K images compared to 480p or so images in the past. The fact of seeing so much details in the lockscreen makes it look cheap in my Opinion.
