Well, I have more important things to worry about.. I found out sometime last week medical results that I have been diagnosed with cancer of the stomach.. so, really by the time Mojave comes out I may not even be here.

Dude, that sucks, I'm sorry. This thread is not the place to discuss your personal life, but best of luck. F*** cancer. I hope you're here to see the day when you can install Mojave on your laptop.
[doublepost=1532316611][/doublepost]I just installed DP4 using my manual patch method as always. I've said this before, and I'll say it again. If you're having trouble with the automated patcher, just take an hour and do it yourself. It's amazing how @dosdude1 is making this so painless and user-friendly, but as with any automated tool, it's good to understand how it works too. As I see it, doing it yourself is always best. /rant

To @jackluke and others who spoke of USB-related kernel panics... uh... I just installed it with the usual IOUSBFamily.kext and IOUSBHostFamily.kext replacements and it works, same as DP3. Could anyone explain exactly what was going on? To me this seems like an issue with the patcher or another fix you've applied.

I'll upload my text file detailing the steps in my manual patch for MacBook7,1 if anybody's interested. Works flawlessly, albeit with a bit of work.

Keep Mojave-ing everyone! :)

Keep your spirits up and fight like hell. Never give up. Others have licked this thing so go tend to your health, this will all still be here when you get back. Best of luck.

the auto patch updater says there's a legacy video patch available for my model, a mid 2010 MBP, however it keeps getting an error (-60031) during install after I type my password. anyone else getting this?

are you using b12 of the macOS Mojave patcher

Yes just downloaded the newest one last night and made a new usb installer in order to update from dev beta 3 to dev beta 4. Used the settings app to update which worked seamlessly. I didn’t do a post install update via the boot menu after the update because it booted right into Mojave and seemed to run fine. Do I need to reboot and run a post install update from the recovery menu?

I updated by subscribing to the dev updates via terminal if that makes a difference. Also tried reinstalling the patcher via the script install and that didn’t help either.

maybe just reinstall the patch update software from the post install and see if that helps

Turns out the double boot-chime is still here in a fresh install of DP4. Not sure what's going on but it doesn't appear to cause any problems. Wasn't happening until I selected the SSD in Startup Disk, for what it's worth. Definitely related to the EFI partition or the OS though, your boot ROMs are safe.

Also, just for fun: Go checkout the Privacy settings in System Preferences and scroll to the bottom. Anybody else getting attacked by a giant gear?

I noticed I have the double chime and the huge gear in the privacy settings menu also on dev 4

Curious - what's the deal with the NOP? How did you figure that one out and what is it bypassing? :)

I've got that in the Privacy panel too, this will be a Mojave beta bug rather than an unsupported bug.
Have you tried to add a custom icon to a file or folder, thought I would try and see if they have fixed the ever present bug in High Sierra where it squishes the replacement icon into a square format, now you get the correct aspect ratio but the new icon is blurred. Blimey!

I found EFI firmware files in the InstallESD image for Mojave. This would probably work for all other versions although I have not tested it. Perhaps these files are useful to someone?

I generally do not address these delicate topics, of course agree with others healing wishes, and I will try to express my thought.

Nobody knows really how it feels when it happens to you, however, surround yourself by beloved people friends/family, believe in medical care, never lose hope, never back down, be brave, be stronger, become a life master for others.

Good morning everyone,

I was wondering how many MacBook 5,2 Early 2009 users are here? Besides me, there is at least one.

Let's join forces to conquer MacBook 5,2 specific probs, e.g. iSight or Wifi or ...

Looking forward to hearing from you.
