Tryout EttreCheck. It might tell you some issues causing this. Did you reset SMC?
Have reset SMC, PRAM, SUM (/sbin) & EtreCheck shows nothing definitive with MFC, doesn't even show in the Report when it's running in the background. As I've isolated the app, just not the cause. Thanks though.

I never see software updates either. MacBook Pro 6,2.
Install DP6 over 5 with with patch tool
Works great.
Same here. DP3 to DP4 was the last system update that worked.
Since then either use the patcher OR re-download Apple's beta utility every time.
The latter always kicks off a download of the full installer. My conclusion is the beta utility does something a little more than just enrolling and setting up CoreServices/SystemVersion plist correctly etc. I frankly haven't had time to properly investigate.
It may also be that applying updates over updates since DP3 has corrupted something (maybe caches?) that a complete wipe and re-install may fix. But I'll wait for GM to play with that and see.
In the meantime, we all have many ways to update and synchronize now, no sweat.

did you apply the legacy wifi patch in post install and in the patch updater

The post install and patch updater on my High Sierra does not include a legacy wifi patch. So I couldn't try it.
On the Mojave partition on the same MBP, re-ran (v1.1.2) post install and patch update. Still not showing Wifi on the menu bar, nor the System Preferences | Network.

Thanks.

I experienced a glitch like this back when I first installed HS. Boot into safe mode, check to see if the WiFi is there, or if you can turn it on in settings. If you can, boot back into normal and see if it helped. That helped for me!

Tried the steps on my High Sierra partition. Still not working. Thanks.

Your system's WiFi card is probably bad.

More than likely. Do not need Wifi right now since I can connect via Wired (Ethernet). I will explore later on replacing the card. Thank You.

did you reinstall the night shift patch from the patch update I noticed my MacBook 5,2 settle down after reapplying the night shift

It is suppose to like turn on then restart. Me holding the keys while pressing power button does nothing. Just stays turned off. Only if I hold those keys though.
if you are trying to reset the smc on your MacBook power off the MacBook, remove the battery unplug the power cord, press the power button for 5 seconds the put in the battery then the power cord then power on

No it's not. That's expected behavior.

If the charger light is orange at the time, it should turn green. Also, if the system is on, it should instantly shut off. If those things happen, then the SMC reset is working just fine.

Edit: Should've read the thread, I'm basically restating what's already been said.

Messed around too much in partitioning, ended up corrupting both my HS drive and Mojave drive. Decided to erase and then delete HS partition, because I did not want to go through the process of setting up 2 OS from scratch. Erased Mojave, reinstalled from my USB which contained DP5. Ran smoothly, booted in, set up again. Reinrolled into PB, used SWU Switched to change it into DB, still no update coming through in system preferences. Could have something to do with the clean install though. I guess we will see in a week. Pretty annoying bug though.

if you have the newest Mojave patcher you could download DP6 create a macOS Mojave usb and install over DP5 I have had no issues I sent a cope of my installer log from my iMac 9,1 which I was able to update to DP6 through the software update and I sent it to another person maybe we might be able to find a fix fingers crossed

Yeah, performing that now. If my drive doesn’t corrupt again (sigh) I’ll see what happens next week.

this is my installer log from my iMac 9,1 if you scroll down to 8/6/2018 around 10:30 am that is when I started my update for DP6 from the software update maybe there is useful info to find fixes :)

Oh thanks man- seem to have got confused with resetting the NVRAM. Now my Mac does not run at full fan speed on the desktop! And it’s not slow as **** anymore. Thanks dude.
[doublepost=1533705081][/doublepost]Can someone tell me where we are up to with the Graphics translucent issues- I would like to start doing some messing about on my Mojave partition. Just so I don’t have to repeat same steps already done.

MBP 5.4 Mid 2009 -> Unsupported...

Got a notification, new Beta is available.
Can this be installed or not?
If "YES" has post install patcher to be used after?
