Exactly! It was just too much design and not enough functionality. But like you said for a desktop it’s really portable and silent, even under load.
And in studios we love to put things in racks. There is a lot of accessories from Sonnet and other companies out there which you can rackmount. So a clean setup is possible.
But I do see the flaws and totally understand people disliking the machine. Though I think some of the moaning is just hear say and or retold stories from people who actually never owned a nMP.

Oh and btw. Before the nMP came out in 2013 a lot of people in the pro community felt left out already, saying there will never be any pro modell again, it’s just gonna be iPhones.
I totally agree with ASentientBot, Apple still cares about macOS even if that’s not their main goal anymore.

Another question: is there any common Software out yet that supports Mojaves dark mode?
The only third party Mojave app I installed was a CCC (Carbon Copy Cloner) beta and no Dark mode support.

You touch on a good point: apps can opt out of light and dark appearances. Unfortunately it pollutes the aesthetics. A Dark mode theme with a bunch of apps that don't support it well looks awful! There is a potential for a mess of a desktop. This alone gave me a new appreciation for light mode...

In what way is it strange?

Even Apple's own iWork apps don't support dark mode.

Good job! If anything ask them if before GM could be possible making a clearer and brighter translucent Finder menu bar for the Mojave "light mode" as it was in High Sierra.
There will be some hidden defaults allowing us to tweak at a finer level. But what I see buried in the code might probably disappear by GM.

Since @visberry got a response from Apple and he had the issue on a supported Mac, we might have some hope of Apple fixing this. My guess is that this is a code issue but it was missed because it doesn't cause any problems on supported Macs except @visberry's case.

I have been researching SSDs for my MBP 5,5, and I think I have selected the one I should get. Since most new SSDs are 7mm instead of 9.5mm, which is the size my MBP requires, the selection was limited. I am considering an OWC Mercury Electra 3g SSD, but I am open to suggestions. It runs around $65, right around my price range. Thanks!

Also, I know the 7mm-9.5mm adapter is only around $5, so would that be a viable option or would the new versions not work with my old MBP?

I use 7 mm ssd in all my macs .hard drive pins keep them in place . Most came with the adapter in the box but I have used them without adapter . I would stay away from some ocz as I have had issues with them in older macs think it was Trion 100 series . The drive firmware was not compatible with the Mac . Currently I have WD green 120 gb in my 2008 Macbook and kingston a400 in the 2009 and and integral 120gb in another . All work fine . Each were about 30 euros online

I also got a response from Cupertino - asking for pics, which I sent. They have a lot on their plate, so I'm not holding my breath. Sending in my system configuration will be an immediate no-go (you have an unsupported machine and OpenGL is deprecated blah blah) So haven't done so yet. It's a normal radar as we shouldn't file feedback from our unsupported devices.

Is there a way to force Intel HD3000? The AMD dGPU is activated when you launch Photoshop, but obviously it's not accelerated...the whole system slows down to a crawl.

That's odd, isn't it? Only one developer reported the issue?!

I have a MacBook Pro early 2011 13" 8,2 2.3GHz /16GB ram/ Intel HD 3000 1024GB and have successfully installed Mojave public beta 7, 10.14 Beta (18A371a). I installed the nighshift patch, Intel HD300 VRAM patch and Continuity Activation Tool. Almost everything is working well, with the exception of Continuity camera, and the GeekBench 4 bench test have been increasing with each beta release. Handoff works with Airdrop and calls. Does anyone know how to get the continuity camera and watch unlock features to work?

I was able to get continuity camera to work after first haveing some issues. If you are still having issues I will be happy to help but I think we should not use this thread. You can PM me.

Because apparently only few rare cases have encountered once (and no more) the Finder flat greyed menu bar in "light mode", I do have a supported Mac and since Mojave beta 1 (mid June) never encountered menu greyed bar on it.

Another hope to convince apple to rewrite the "light mode" finder menu bar is from those who have mainly a 2010 and 2012 Mac Pro models, which as known with a GPU upgrade become Mojave supported.

We do not want to make them suspicious more than this.

I think someone have already seen this forum, don't you think? ;D

I had mojave DP5 on my main system for maybe a week until I realized that too many applications are not working as expected because not yet supported. But during that time I changed to ligh mode after a couple of hours because the mix between all the different windows was super chaotic and kinda restless. Just stressfull for the eyes.

On the MBP I only use safari and mail, so I like the dark mode a lot.

@visberry can send that though. He has a supported Mac that will get no suspicion.

Has anyone found a dark mode extension for chrome for Mojave? In dark mode, chrome doesn’t show check boxes and has the same UI glitches when you right click and such.

You must reinstall. Wipe the drive if you can. Unchecking does not remove the patches.

Proper colors after reinstall without Legacy Video Patcher :) and better overall performance, now more normal glitches and more usable iMac. Strange thing is that ResXtreme is not working on that iMac, it's crashing when try to open.

I have been using Dark Reader on Mojave for both Chrome and Firefox for about 2 months now, its not perfect but close enough.

https://darkreader.org/

For chrome you still need a separate home page dark theme which chrome offers on their theme extensions page

Graphics Acceleration is not supported on Radeon HD 5xxx and 6xxx series GPUs. That is why you have laggy animations, poor performance, and the system runs hot.
