Amazing work!

Will give a try later with my usual non-clever tests.

edit:
Using the stock .5 beta2 AGC kext group, even if I get some AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy and AppleMuxControl unresolved symbols the graphics acceleration now does work fine especially with your CoreDisplay framework fix.

And I noticed is possible to use also the .4 OpenGL and GPUSupport if are being used too the IOGraphicsFamily, IONDRVSupport, IOAccel* from .4 , but I guess it doesn't worth it since they work the same way with .3 OpenGL and GPUSupport.

Your CoreDisplay fix does bring back .5 beta2 Acceleration also on dualGPUs machines and IntelHD graphics.

@pkouame did already tested dualGraphics but it was a dual Nvidia Tesla machine, I just confirm it works too on dual mixed GPUs machines.

And I add your "non-metal 10.14.5accel fix" works perfectly on IntelHD3000 single GPU machines.

From .5 beta2 I don't have more the News+ tab from News.app so can't test it.
and @ASentientBot

I'm wondering why you don't have News+ in .5b2. I do, very strange. Check again.

Related to this, News (not just News+) crashes very consistently now, after a few seconds of navigating and not just when selecting News+ as it did before. Have any of you noticed that? It crashes in the same CoreImage GL context/pixelformat setup. No reason to believe it's because of the CoreDisplay retro-patch. It may just have been tweaked even more in .5b2. I tried swapping in a .3 CoreImage framework, but it doesn't help (but doesn't crash). Plus, the .5 CoreImage is significantly different than the .3 version : almost twice as big and loaded with new Resources. So I'm hesitant to go that route to "fix" apps like this.

As we all noted before, Apple's new reliance on Marzipan is introducing "breaking" changes on our platforms. News may just be the start if I follow the 10.15 announcements.

On the + side :)
- random .4 crashes have disappeared (for the moment)
- consistent crashes after sleep have disappeared (at least on my machine - had to disable sleep on .4)
- old GL based screensavers (like Flurry) are working out of the box
- No Safari crashes
- Chess is working great
- I ran very intense benchmark software like CineBench R15 OpenGL tests on it and it all passed
- Most (if not all) Apple GL based sample programs now run fine

NOTE1: my quicky experiment with .4 and the .3 CoreDisplay failed, but I'm not sure if did "chown" and " chmod" after my swap. Someone else may wan to try.

NOTE2: Using the .4 OpenGL suite would be an improvement (if it works) Remember that .3 OpenGL and .4/.5 OpenGL are different so please confirm as it peaks my interest.

All in all, very promising.

I assume this is all due to the legacy video patches as 10.14.4 on a MacPro 3,1 with GTX680 has been rock stable.
Like me, you have a nice metal based card on the pro 3,1. You shouldn't have to worry.

Yes, News+ and iOS common apps crashes, should be the Marzipan project side effects.

I still have on a drive 10.14.4 and also noticed that 10.14.5 beta 2 is much more stable overall.

About your NOTE1 , do you have tried .4 CoreDisplay.framework (the one I attached before) and didn't worked?
On .5 beta2 it works too, but I'd say as .3 CoreDisplay, neither better nor worse.

Instead if would try .4 OpenGL (I see hard to use .5 OpenGL since downgrading CoreDisplay does affect it) then I guess you need to replace all the content with that folder I posted some pages ago "45beta2.zip" , using the "10.14.4 folder", but I guess it won't work so good, because there were some kind of dependencies with .4 AGC kext.

Another test where I used the AGC from .5 beta1 and that fixed the missing symbols on AGDP and AMuxControl, but honestly for now the best solution is the new ASentientBot fix.

And we are really close to .5 beta3 within this week.

This is an interesting point. My MacBook5,1 is rock solid(no Kernel Panics) on 10.14.4. I removed NDRVShim from the get-go in order to achieve a clamshell mode and now wondering that maybe this is the only thing that is keeping me away from Kernel Panics. I am guessing that legacy video patch is more than just a NDRVShim.

First, congrats with the MP3,1. I dunno, three different Mac models, mix of CPUs, GPUs all with max. memory, SMART worthy SSDs HFS+, APFS, SSHD HFS+, HDD partitioned APFS, HFS+ also Firewire SSD HFS+ on .4 yield random KPs not repeatable for no apparent cause. Marzipan encroachment perhaps? Over my paygrade for sure. But .5 looks promising.

Yes with @ASentientBot 's fix I see no reason to look back. I think I'm done with .4 and will wait for .5b+ and its surprises.

The new Marzipan based apps will be a challenge going forward, we will eventually lose that battle so best if we all just get used to an imperfect world.

Curious: @dosdude1 - how do you think Apple's New 10.14.5+ Notarization Requirements will impact us?

@pkouame Did these new discoveries impact anything on the artifacts of unsupported macs? we continue with the gray menu bar? Thanks for your efforts, I'm following up, but for now I'm staying in 10.14.3, it seems that 10.14.5 or 10.14.6 will be the endgame.

It shouldn't impact us at all, actually. It shouldn't be any different than just disabling Gatekeeper is today; all the notarization is is a second layer of "trust" on the application.
[doublepost=1555349765][/doublepost]Also, for Mojave Patcher users, I will be updating the Legacy Video Patches to include the latest advancements found by members here, both in a new version of Mojave Patcher and via Patch Updater.

My mp3.1 with a GTX680 has also been trouble free. Works better than 14.3! I suspect that having a metal graphics card that is on Apple’s Mojave recommended list is the key here.

These .5b+ and OpenGL issues side tracked me, but I will get back @ looking at (possibly) improving the Hybrid fixes.
May or may not have an impact, I'll see soon...

I do have News+, sorry for the miscommunication. And you're right, it crashes after a few seconds either way. Quicker if you select News+ though. I don't particularly care about the Marzipan apps but I can see it being hard to keep them working as Apple keeps making big changes. Could be interesting! Sometime I'll check the dependencies of CoreImage and see if anything looks relevant.

It definitely seems like 10.14.5 is more stable than .4, as you said. I haven't had any panics yet in a few hours of use. And it's nice to have the OpenGL apps back. Weird stuff...

I never chown/chmod frameworks. It only seems to be fussy about kexts.

Swapping in .4 rather than .3 frameworks is definitely a good idea where possible. I'll give it a try sometime.

This is definitely an unexpectedly nice development though! I am fairly optimistic that we'll get 10.15 running in June.

Nice job! Good to hear! My trusty old 2010 MBP gets to live on.
That being said, i hope 10.15 wont drop 32 bit apps (but it likely will since the alerts started in HS) Alot of apps (especially steam games) are 32 bit

Hi - any workaround for this yet? I just tried your patcher on a 2018 mbp and got the asr: couldn't personalize error. Threw me a curve while trying to create a .4 patcher stick.
[doublepost=1554743042][/doublepost]
Lessons learned. Used to keep copies of my sticks...got a little lazy lately. Thanks.
Have you tried by simply disabling integrity protection for good? I was having problems to create a patcher on a 2015 MBP, those do not have a T2 chip, yet after getting rid of integrity protection all worked well. Also as of 10.14.4 this protection is imposed on the entire system ( as opposed to only specific important locations in previous OS versions). As of 10.14.4 on a supported system no hacked apps would work until one disables integrity protection.

I have a 2011 Macbook Pro (8,1) and ever since updating to Mojave I've lost GPU hardware acceleration in Adobe Premiere. I'm guessing this is a non-fixable issue? If so I might downgrade back to High Sierra (if that's in fact possible).

Anybody got any suggestions/advice on what options I have?

@dosdude1, are these enhancement to your Mojave patcher basically fixes to accomplish "graphics acceleration" on the 10.14.5 betas? Sorry to ask this again as I'm trying to keep up with .5 beta discussions (haven't logged into this forum and thread since 10.14.4 GM was out). Thanks everyone.

Got 10.14.4 working on my iMac 9,1 external 500 HDD only crashed a few times until I swapped frameworks and kexts and enabled Siri Flurry doesn't work but that's ok I use Aerial screensaver :)

What do you mean by swapping frameworks? I have problems with. 4 crashing on mine Macmini 3,1 so what I understood from the posts is. I have to disable the screensaver or wait for. 5 until is official right?

It didn't last long I replaced CoreDisplay.framework from 10.14.3 and the frameworks from the Siri patch after enabled Siri as I didn't have a Siri Icon on my menubar but it crashes even before I can enter my password

salü, have a little question before I install my imac 2011 a new nvidia card, how do I install mojave without boot screen? or can I see the recovery menu? I will buy an nvidia 860m...

Bootscreen= the white start page with apple logo yeah? ...

There are many ways for a non-efi apple GPU to boot:

It should show the Recovery menu, and from there or from a macOS that you have, plug first your USB Mojave Installer, then from System Preferences / Startup Disk select your USB Mojave Installer restart as bootable device.

Or after the power-on chime you can hold alt-option for 10-15 seconds, then without seeing nothing at screen, move with arrows one step on the right and press enter key, then wait for USB Mojave Installer booting around 3-5 minutes.

Some users reported that if you plug your iMac to an external monitor with a thunderbolt-to-VGA-or-DVI-or-HDMI it should show the bootscreen so previous steps are unneeded .

If for some reason you result no booting, in any case I guess you can do a PRAM reset and with a proper OSX external disk could enter in single user mode using the shell.

Try re-installing the Legacy Video Patch with the Patch Updater in the Utilities Folder.

For some reason re-installing that patch stopped the random KPs in .4 on a Mini3,1. No other changes noted.

whoops! posted too soon, random KPs are baaaack in .4 on the Mini3,1. This time when exiting Disk Utility. Not good. Upon reboot the other partition on the boot SSD was unmounted.
