Yes. And notoriously, beta 1 of a new release is almost always “stable” or “better” than current. Hard to know if that’s by design, to convince folks to upgrade and test.

so many variables. i mean, personally, i think it's all over the place (the betas, moving forward). but perhaps because beta 1 is less fully-developed (ie solidifying new features) and so, as those things are finalized, new issues crop up.

for me, the betas never get better (or worse) in a straight line... any more that official updates do.

Not my experience. I couldn't get the early beta releases of Ventura to connect to WiFi, and I was not alone. I think it was not until Developer Beta 5 that things calmed down and Ventura was usable.

Are we expecting a new beta today, do we think? It's two weeks today since the last, and is normally the rule. But I wondered if things change when a public beta is also to be released at some point soon whether they will time beta 2 with this instead?

I would expect a couple of new dev betas to drop this week (iOS, etc); it's often on a Tuesday. That said, the macOS betas sometimes go a couple/few more weeks longer than the others before the second beta drops, so we may not get one this week.

Ah yes, sorry you're right. It is normally the Tuesday and thereafter. I ask because I installed Beta 1 on my DD MBP (because I'm stupid, but also have FOMO) and I figured tonight I would flatten it and start from scratch, due to a build up of some crap I could do with removing anyway, coupled with how relatively easy everything is to reinstall nowadays. Maybe I'll do it anyway then. Thanks.

They've shown off a new reply field for Mail in the Keynote. This is not in the beta yet, right?
