macOS 15 Sequoia on Unsupported Macs Thread

so... legacy Mac’s updated so far OTA macOS 15.1RC1 -> 15.1RC2 24B83 with newest OCLP 2.1.0n (latest KDK or MetallibSupportPkg if needed) without problems! I occassionally have a similar problem and I have the exact same iMac you have: 13,1 21" from 2012. One thing I did was reapplying root and post install patches. Since then, I haven't yet seen the problem reappear, but I notice the widgets on the desktop disappear from time to time. Usually logging out and back in will help, but not always. A reboot is the only way to temporarily fix the problem. I've never seen an actual fix because it's difficult to reproduce and I always thought it was my GPU overheating but not sure(!). A reboot temporaily alleviates the problem.

Running pretty well on mine with 15.0.1 I did have major issues with Safari not loading websites and found the work around for me was to do the install without logging into icloud when prompted and then log into icloud once the install is complete after testing safari to see if was working. You can always create a small APFS container and take it for a test spin instead of updating your current OS or put it on another drive. If you migrate your data be sure to remove post patches and then reinstall after migration.

About the favorites synchronization problem in safari, I reaffirm some things that have been said in this thread:

The problem is related to the synchronization of the photos application, which also fails due to "the connection is not fast enough" or something similar.

If you connect the Mac via cable, everything synchronizes without problems, photos and favorites.

In one of them. Not happy at all. The other with Monterey is rock solid. Just for the record, running Montery in my two Macbooks Pro 16 M1. So i am not a reliable font.

Don´t like at all Ventura and SEQUOIA.

Hello everyone, I have a small problem when opening a session (and only when opening) I have had a virtual keyboard for a few days, but I would prefer to type my password on my physical keyboard. I don't see what could have happened. After opening a session, everything is in order I have access to my physical keyboard. This does not come from the Accessibility section. Can someone help me?
 
Should a MacMini 7,1 (2014) support Universal Control when running Sequoia 15.1 rc2 and OCLP 2.1.0n?

You mean the physical keyboard is only recognized after login, right?

I strictly use my 5,1 for Pro Tools. By any chance you running Pro Tools on any of those machines.

I'm currently running Sonoma and it's been pretty good so far for mixing.

I have a recording session come up soon and I'll keep my fingers crossed. Let's see how good it tracks 18 inputs at 48k.

Hello to all, I have a problem with OCLP 2.1.0 nightly under macOS Sequoia RC2 when I print settings I get this error message as seen on the screenshot, root patch, build and install OpneCore but works without problems,
can anyone help me with this? Thank
you in advance.

I don't run Pro Tools but I have Logic and Studio One running great as well as other, Cubase.. ect.
Also use Orion 32HD Gen 3 and the Studio 192 from Presonus.

Looks like a bug of some sort in OCLP. You can send the report so they will be aware of it to fix in a future release. You could probably just live with it until the next release if everything is working ok on your machine. If not you can try the release version.

Thanks for the answer, yes the iMac runs without any problems, I will leave it like this for now and wait for the next version of OCLP.
