macOS 27 - working and non-working apps thread

Somebody crossed out Speedtest, but it's not working correctly. It launches, but the menu bar is unresponsive. I have to force quit the app.

I had made this update. It is working fine for me. I guess we should leave it on the non-working list if multiple people are having problems. It works 100% here on my Macbook Pro though.

Add Siri itself, at least for me, to the list of nonworking apps on macOS 27 Golden Gate. It works fine on my iPhone 17PM, but not on my Macbook Pro M1 16 Inch. When I try to continue Siri conversations there, which I've started on my iPhone, Siri keeps responding with "Something's wrong", "There's a problem", etc.

When I was still on the Siri waitlist, I used Terminal on my Macbook to enter the command to supposedly gain access to Siri ahead of being taken off the waitlist, but I got the same responses from Siri then as now. I'm assuming that after I graduated from the waitlist on my iPhone, to active Siri access, that my Macbook's Siri app would also work, but maybe that's not how it works. But I'm also wondering if that Terminal command messed something up that needs to be fixed now.

Weird. It's not working on both my M4 MacBook Air and M4 Max Mac Studio. I wonder if it's CPU related or if something else I'm running is causing a conflict? It shows up in my menu bar, but clicking it won't do anything. I have to go to activity manager to stop it.

When I looked in the App Store, it looks like the app hasn't been updated in 3 years. I guess it doesn't need to be updated when it's working.

I hope you figure it out. I am on Speedtest 1.27 also, and I didn't have to do anything to get it working. I updated to MacOs 27, and when I tested Speedtest, it worked perfectly. I wouldn't think the cpu would matter, but I don't have any ideas what is different in our setups that would matter. 🤷‍♂️

Just downloaded version 1.27 from the App store, runs fine on macOS 27 and my MBA M2.
The same app on the web site <https://www.speedtest.net/result/12405066000>, doesn't work correctly, and hangs.

So the issue is if you have "run in menu bar" checked, then it hangs up. Hitting the menu bar icon does nothing. If you don't have that enabled, then it works.

Microsoft Company Portal working on its own, but fails to register my device (I think it does not recognise the MacOS version). Re-registration itself works, but the device won't pass the check (not sure if our company policies are the problem or the MSFT app).
Just a warning for those whose mac relies on this.

  • WisperFlow
  • Better Display
  • RCMD
 
Today I tried the newest version of Topaz Gigapixel and I would not recommend to open it on MBP. It's working but draining battery in style, 80% gone within 20 minutes. If you don't want to destroy your battery I would recommend to wait.
 
Just a quick note to share the second Golden Gate nightly beta of Little Snitch works perfectly now
 
Appcleaner is currently on the non-working list. It has been working fine for me on my macbook. Has anyone else had problems running Appcleaner?

Not sure if this qualifies for this thread, but what is the Apps icon in the dock? It does nothing on my M4 Macbook Air - it looks like some kind of launcher?

Apologies if this is shared in the wrong area – Apple Maps is working, apart from 3D view in select areas.

Two cities (Leicester and Nottingham, as examples) are both staying in 2D view when 3D is toggled on; issue not present in iOS 26.

Me too. Just need app which can manage spacing. Don't need anything else. At first I sorted it with command in terminal but now it's no longer working and drives me crazy. 😀

Does anyone having a problem with watching Netflix in the browser? Time to time appear overlay that series is paused when it's clearly not, pause button actually don't appear.
I'm guessing it's probably because of Wipr 2 but wondering if someone experience anything like it.

EDIT:

New update of Noir app caused that.
