Confused... Apple released macOS 10.15 Catalina today... when I check for 32-bit apps on my iMac, I see several biggies, including parts of both Adobe's CC 2019 Suite and Apple's own FCPx. Is Apple really encouraging us to upgrade and then taking away our ability to use their own video editing program?

If I understand correctly from your screenshot, it looks like it's referencing plugins for FCPx, not FCPx itself. Don't take my word for it though, I'm just guessing.

Dock disappears and does not reappear.

in system preference ask me sign in Apple ID. I did sign in then ask me iMac password and I enter it and it keep having red badge of number one asking me sign Apple ID. It keeps coming back. Been at least 20 times now i've entered the passwords.

Apple ID happened to me as well. Sign out, and then sign back in. That did the trick for me!

I'm really annoyed about Apple this year. iOS, watchOS, iPadOS, tvOS, macOS... Nothing works like it should be. Nothing is ready for public releases. Bugs, issues, app crashes, apps are freezing, lags... Everything sucks.

- I always get a timeout message when I want to use sidecar with my iPad.
- iCloud Login message in the settings. Logout doesn't work either. Get an error.
- Have to login everywhere again. Music, Apple TV, App Store...

I feel like I'm on Android or Windows... But they do work better now. Don't know. Apple lost it's view of quality.

Actually, there was an update to FCPx today... that solved the issue as far as FCPx goes... still reporting some 32-bit components in Adobe CC 2019

Dock disappears and does not reappear.

Same thing happened to me on the GM. I fixed it by restarting computer.

I made a bug report to apple so that they could fix it before public release.

Disappointed that they did not fix it and the bug is occurring in the public release.

It is easy to fix, but many people won't know how to fix it.

If restarting doesn't fix it, you can hold option key whilst selecting go from menu bar. Click Library (which only appears when you hold down the Option key whilst accessing that menu). Then open Preferences and delete the file com.apple.dock.plist. Then restart computer. The dock will rebuild itself.

After fixing it in the GM and then updating the GM to the public release the problem did not recur.

Dock disappeared on me as well, along with the iCloud sign in issues. Deleting the dock prefs worked until the next reboot when again, it would disappear.

Carbon Copy Cloner to the rescue and I’m back to Mojave. So far not impressed with what I’ve seen with Catalina.

Some content, such as the content itself in Firefox, but not the browser's text itself, is obviously still getting edge smoothed even though I have very clearly turned it off. Before a reset, the browser's text itself also had smoothing.

I had that iCloud alert appearing over and over in System Prefs also, and logging out then back in iCloud fixed it.

Anybody else seeing this bug where some folders are missing the blue folder icon?

Had a hard time getting to Catalina. I tried to switch at the release of the GM and got a black screen of death. Restored and got working back on Mojave. Waited til release day and got the same black screen of death. Tracked it down to enabling of WPA3 on my Aruba InstantOn infrastructure. The instant I try to join that SSID, it dies. Switching that SSID to just WPA2 makes it work just fine.

There appears to be two Wallet entries in the "Notifications" section of Settings. Anyone know why? Seems like a bug to me.

Still cannot get the dock to appear even doing all that. Apple just doesn't know how to make desktop OS's anymore. I've accepted that fact. I'd go google everything if they had a business model that didn't rely on harvesting my data, but they don't so I'm stuck.

Catalina somehow duplicated my profile in the contacts app (I'm now listed 2 times under "My Card"). The first entry just contains my name and has my old profile pic and the second one is my correct account (profile pic, telephone number etc.). I hope that deleting the second one doesn't screw anything up.

Installed on my iMac...every 5-10 minutes, the screen goes black for a few seconds. Anyone else experiencing this?

I am just getting tired. macOS is just a larger smoking pile than Windows 10. That gives me headaches, but this. ****ing hell.

Did a clean install of the stable. Beta 7 was fine for me, I thought they got it together. I was wrong.

My iCloud files are refusing to sync. It's waiting to upload the empty Desktop and Document folders, while all my data is sitting on iCloud and I can't reach it from the Mac. Bravo.

As a bonus, my Books aren't syncing either.

Apart from that, it was smooth, but I spent 4 hours with this today and I was naive enough that I can work with this tomorrow.

All this time going back and forth with HOW MANY betas?? And the basic **** isn't working‽ What in the hell were the original programmers, and the beta testers, testing?

My issues so far:

• Saving photos off the net AND doing a "Save As" with Photoshop results in NO file extension. Bupkiss. Nada. Zilch.

• Tried loading an album of .MP3 songs into Music, it showed up for a brief moment, then disappeared. Re-tried a couple of times. The songs showed up, for about 10 seconds, then *poof*. They were in the folder in the Music app file. Just ... not staying in the Music interface.

However, so far TV seems to be working (the app). From initial inspection, most of the stuff I had in my old iTunes library was divided up properly to the new individual apps.

Although – considering every other video media player out there (including every free one) for *ages* has the bare minimum of adjustment features for both video AND audio (brightness, contrast, equalizer for sound, subtitles, etc) – there is NOTHING in TV. No adjustment features at ALL.

At least iTunes had an equalizer for audio. But that too sucked for not having any settings to tweak videos.

• Oh there is a TV issue (and the same issue with Music). Cover/album artwork vanished on a lot of my saved movies, TV shows and music. Maybe 35-45% of the stuff I had saved? And in replacing a couple of movie posters to see if that was a thing I could do to fix this, they show up in the "Info" box, but then don't appear on the interface.

Get your **** together Apple!

Wow, using 256GB of memory. Force-killed it. Was importing music from backup drive.

Also missing all of my App Store purchases. (iMac).

So far, so bad.

Not really a bug but it drives me crazy - my app icons reorganized on screens when I do launchpad. I supposed it was that they added new ones near the beginning. I'm just used to icons in certain places on certain screens and moving them around drives me crazy.

It seems faster to me and smoother than prior release. Other than some minor notifications for new security - it all seems fine to me so far.
First TM backup was 27. GB which took a while to do

Just received an update notification for MacOS Catalina on my 2018 MBP 15"

Having read all the disasters I think I'll wait a few days, months, years...........

Mind you, that's just it, you only hear of the disasters. There are probably millions of satisfied customers out there, but I think I'll still wait.............at 81 I really can't be bothered with hassle!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it comes to mind1

Updated on my Mac mini 2018. Works fine but it turns out only if I don't actually need to use a monitor. The cables I have, HDMI > USB-C are no longer compatible... Back to Mojave.

I have these problems:

- Safari doesn't block pop ups anymore. But the settings say it has to be blocked.
- I always have to login into Apple TV, Apple Music and the App Store
- Sidecar doesn't work with the latest iPad Air 3 - Timeout

None of my purchases are visible in the app store, tried logging out and back in, nothing, anyone else had this? Even if I purchase something it still does not show.
