Not expecting it, but I hope this update fixes issues I've had since upgrading to 15.3.

Since then, iCloud drive sync (whether Mullvad VPN is on or off) seems top remain in a loop (always showing as a stalled update via Finder side panel); I cannot download podcast episodes w/ Mullvad VPN <On>.

found one imporovement: the SMB connection is more stable now

Since when do those SMB issues exist? When I was new to an Apple forum in my country, I think I already heard about that. I was there from 2013 to 2016 I think.

It's in the AppStore now too:

my MBP have SMB issue since 15.0, tried a lot of ways to imporve.

Today, after upgraded to 15.3.1, my SMB shared folder automatically connected. no offline so far.

My Mac mini x86 is now having USB issues. Upon a reboot I need to remove the keyboard for the computer to recognize it. That prevents me from using a key sequence to boot the Mac in recovery mode to revert to 15.3.

I get this error message very often (once a day) since 15.3 final. I only used Network in Finder once to copy data from one Mac to another. But the other one is gone since a while and in the first weeks I never got this. I think I never even got this while the last betas of 15.3. Just got it the second time in less than an hour. Seems 15.3.1 made it even worse.

I sometime had to remove my keyboard and plug it in again, when I used the "wrong" mouse at the same time in earlier versions/betas. But always when everything was already running for a while. I just haven't used that mouse anymore since then. It was a M3 iMac.

Yes, you can even upgrade directly from 10.13 High Sierra.
I knew that, i'm just trying to psyche my mac mini up from the serenity of a computer
to the mundane aspect of an iPad as Ventura-Sequoia uses system settings instead of preferences.
the icons in a row are more easy and quicker to navigate than a huge list of options.

Since installing 15.3.1 every time I try to download the InstallAssistant.pkg from one of the sites above or the one linked on Mr. Macintosh, as soon as the file finishes downloading it is immediately deleted from my downloads folder. It doesn't get moved to the trash, it just disappears like it was never there. And this happens not only with the installer for Sequoia but also the ones for Sonoma and Ventura. I finally got them to download and stick by using DuckDuckGo. All other files, program or otherwise, download and stay in downloads fine.

A google search reveled others have had this problem too in the past, and it was fixed by changing times to keep the download list, location, etc.

None of these solutions worked for me. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Thanks.

The download creates an installer app which you'll find in your applications folder 👍

Edit: Just tried it and it's created an 'InstallAssistant.pkg' on my desktop (set as default).

No. I'm sorry, but that's not the way it's working on my machine. InstallAssistant.pkg is deleted immediately upon download. I'm never given the chance to open it and have it put the actual installer in my Applications folder. It doesn't make a difference as to what the settings are in the General tab--"File download location" or "Remove download list items" or "Open 'safe' files after downloading." Any file with the name "InstallAssistant.pkg" is immediately deleted upon download and doesn't go to the trash either nor anywhere on the internal drive as shown by an EasyFind search.

This reminds me of the "new" Disk Utility several years ago. I hated it and even downgraded a few times only because of the change. I always confuse if it came with El Capitan or High Sierra.

Also I liked iPhoto more than Photos and it had a big brother with the same design (Aperture) like iMovie (Final Cut Pro) and Garage Band (Logic Pro). Sadly it was discontinued with the change to Photos. Aperture was not that expensive than the other ones, if I remember correctly.

I upgraded from High Sierra to Ventura by buying a new Mac. Maybe I have less problems with the new System Settings because I very rarely use my iPhone/iPad and it doesn't remind me of their settings. Also I skipped so many versions that there might be enough other changes that annoyed me more.
The thing I hate most is APFS and those extra System Partitions now.

That ist strange. Is there any error message?

I have no problem to download it in Safari or Firefox. Then I run it and the installer is in Applications.

Do you have some security software installed maybe? Why is it even downloaded completely if it will be deleted then anyway. Doesn't really make sense. 🤔

Was it only this time or also before? I try now downloading it.

You mean this is full downloading and then the file is simply gone? Mine always goes to the standard "Downloads" folder although I have set it to "Ask for each Download" in Safari. But with a right click you can choose where to save.
Firefox is asking in both ways.

I just saw I already downloaded it before. So it worked for me. But I am just trying it again.
