All Mac with Thunderbolt. You can use a Thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter, then the Thunderbolt to FireWire 800. And with Sequoia, it's possible to sync the first iPod like that
...for 5 or 10Gb of additional storage. 😀

By the time iPods had significant storage, you could use USB to connect them. Nearly every phone in the last few years has had 128 Gb at least.

Not sure if this has been noted, but now you have to click an icon to adjust the volume in Music.app. Very. ****ing. Annoying.

Whoever designed this should quit their job.

corespeechd randomly consuming 100% CPU and causing my M1 MacBook Air to heat up. Force quitting kills it for a bit before it comes back again after a while.
I was having the same issue, then I found the solution for it. since I dont use any siri or dictation features I dont need that to be poping up constantly. to get rid of corespeechd first you need to disable csrutil in recovery mode (in my case it was already disabled). then restart in regular mode and remove corespeechd from terminal by running "launchctl remove com.apple.corespeechd" command

The Mac App Store won't show Updates which are due. You can't use Cmd+R as in previous macOS versions. It doesn't update to show apps which have an update available.

No updated apps for me since 9th June.

Anyone else noticed this?

Can anyone confirm System Settings is crashing when clicking on "Customize Voice"?

Maybe there wasn't any update. In only have some very smalll apps that got updates. But most off my apps are not from the App Store.

This option in Tinker Tool System also didn't show updates after runnning it:

Yeah, there are updates. I only found out by navigating to an app’s app page on the App Store and it showed an Update button instead of Open/Get.

I noticed this already in 15.5. Not sure when automatic updates start. Maybe they always wait a few days. I just looked and all apps are updated.

But I am downgrading if there is no new beta tommorrow, that is lowering temperatures.

Can't risk anymore my M4 Pro Mini being hot the whole day for no obvious reason. I already eliminated a driver that went crazy and something else and can't see anything using much more CPU.
But the temperatures especially of the Efficiency Cores are generally much higher, when almost doing nothing. Performance Cores should stay at a certain temperature but some just randomly jump up.
I think the problem might the WindowServer process using too much GPU. It's always on top in Activity Monitor. I only remember the Effinceny Cores being always at 40 or 45 degrees Celsius and the Performance Cores at 40 when I am doing almost nothing.

I never looked at other than CPU temperatures before. So I can't really tell what's the problem. The Mini always was not even slightly warm in 15.5. If I haven't done anything special. I told that app to ramp the fans up shortly when anything is above 80 degrees and this is happening very often mostly when just launching Safari. Firefox isn't doing this.

Here are the current temperatures with only this Tab open in Firefox. It's not really hot but very warm compared to the cold metal it had been before the update.

Here GPU usage is jumping around randomly from zero up to 40% or something in between while just looking at it and doing nothing else:

Can anyone confirm this:

I bought some apps from Bundlehunt that I haven't activated yet and I am not able to use a single one what includes this Paddle-Activation. It's blocking the app Window even if there is a trial period.

The buttons don't work and I also can't quit the app via Menu Bar or Dock. Only force quit is working.

Some menu items work, like "about" or the entries in the Help section. So the app is not stuck. Just most buttons or options don't work because of this overlay for registration.

I already wrote to two developers using it and to Paddle.

I'm see similar readings. As I have posted in this thread there are a number of FANS available on Amazon to help with this if its a concern to you. Also suggest adding some "Rubber / Silicone "feet to the bottom of the Mini or sitting it on its side. I have mine sitting on its side more to access the On / Off button than for cooling.

I guess the App Store doesn't properly display the apps that have updates. I'm not too sure, but I think before all the apps with the most recent versions were listed in the updates tab?

Seeing a weird issue in finder sidebar. External drives allocated an icon from DXO PureRaw 5. proper icon seen in get info and on desktop.

Anyone else seeing this?

Ah just seeing this post. Yeah, same here.
Weird isn't it? I've been able to update some by going to their app pages and pressing Update manually, but I really hope Beta 2 fixes this.

Automatic app updates don't seem to have ever worked for me on macOS or iOS, but losing the ability to manually check for updates and run them is a step too far for me! 😆

Also hoping to get compact tab option back in Safari and improvements to the Music app's stability.

Other than that I've been really happy with Tahoe so far. Wonder if we'll see Beta 2 today!

Anyone having issues with AirPlay? I have 4 HomePods, but after 1 or 2 songs, it craps out, then the HomePods are not available. iTunes is very unstable as well when playing music (the volume control blanks out etc).

Is anyone else having a problem with Contacts. When I launch the app, I get a blank window. I've restarted, force-quit the app, etc. My contacts themselves are fine, per every other app and device that accesses them. I wonder if a Library file disappeared or moved or something. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Contacts App is still an issue in Beta 2 as well.

Did a clean install of Tahoe ß2 on an external SSD. All went well.
They seem to have fixed the problem of switching back to Sequoia, without having to restore the firmware.

I am using Irvue wallpaper manager. This morning, to honour the Glass theming of Tahoe, it presents me with a photo of a glass sculpture. Glass on glass. Not much detail visible...

^^^^What problem was that❓ I have been back and forth with Sequoia and Tahoe on my 14,8 Mac Pro. In both betas🤔

A number of people have noted with the M4 Mac Mini that when you go from a new Beta back to a previous release version, the firmware is corrupted and needs to be refreshed via another Mac.

It happened with 15.4 Betas, it has been noted by Apple with 15.6 Beta and it has happened with Tahoe Beta 1.

YES!!!! I am getting the exact same thing. I actually came here to ask this question. I've tried deleting the .plist files and that did nothing. I rarely use Contacts since I use Outlook. But it bothers me that something isn't working. Maybe it will be fixed in the next update?
