Are any of you folks having trouble with MS Word quitting without showing the Save Dialog Box:

I have the following checked in Desktop and Dock:

And other apps are showing fine. I am on MS Word Version 16.99.

Just did a test. I opened a blank document, typed some stuff, and ⌘q.

Word just closed and the document wasn't saved. Ouch! Also 16.99.

Word 16.99.1 was pushed a couple of days ago, maybe they fixed this? I tried to reproduce without success, it did pop a box asking me to save. (...But I am still on Sequoia.)

I'm actually on 16.99.1 - I just didn't bother to type the last bit in 😁

So, unfortunately, it didn't fix it. I've just switched to the "beta channel". Let's see what that brings ... (will edit)

So exciting! Now running 16.100. Didn't fix the issue, though!

Yep, I updated to 16.99.1, and no fix. I removed all files associated with Word using AppCleaner. Restarted twice. Reinstalled Word, restarted again. Opened Word, and no love 👎

So, comforting to learn I'm not alone🤔

I did not have the issue on Sequoia.

Yeah that's weird, then, seems to be a difference between Sequoia and Tahoe. Hopefully they get that sorted out before the Tahoe proper release.

^^^^Checked or unchecked doesn't make a difference in MS Word. I notice you pulled up Excel. It is my understanding that this option is available to Excel users only if they have a 365 subscription. I don't, I have an Office LTSC License, and the "Automatically Save" option does not show in Excel.

BTW, I also have an M2 MBA, it has the same problem in Word as my M2 Ultra Mac Pro.

I had an issue whereby my Calendar changes, made on MacOS, weren't synchronising over to iCloud (and hence my iPhone).

On doing a refresh, I got an error saying the password for iCloud was wrong. Weird. Anyhoo ... went into Settings / Apple Account and everything looked fine.

Doing the above was enough to kick Calendar syncing back into life.

The workaround is temporary and has to be done every so often.

I logged a Feedback and it's "more than 10" with the text saying they have a potential fix ready.

working here (i just added a contact on my mac & it showed up on the phone a moment later)...

beta 4 does, overall, seem a bit buggier than beta 3. in my humble experience, betas are never a straight-line forward, so no surprise

Does it work the other way? A new/edited contact on your phone being sync'd to your mac?

works here. is it still indexing? or check spotlight in system settings (perhaps reset quick keys?). keep us posted
Most of the issues will disappear if you do a full hard reset (previously backing up user files).
I had been installing Beta 1, 2, and 3 without performing a hard reset; however, when I enrolled in the fourth beta, I had to perform a hard reset because the old Spotlight feature stopped working (as I mentioned earlier above). It didn't work because of a tweak I've done on beta 1 - to revert the old Launchpad. It seems that Beta 4 conflicts with that tweak which stops new Apps and brings back the old Launchpad (Read the description of the YT video).

By the way, everything you share here, please also text directly to Apple via the Feedback app.
I asked them to bring back Launchpad.

Is it just me or is Screen Record broken? They seem to capture, but don't save.

Edit: nm. It seems to be working. Have they always saved to iCloud Drive and not Photos?

More on the Word save issue:

I have another SSD with Tahoe Beta 1 installed. I booted to that disk and tried to quit and save to Word:

It worked

Next, I tried Excel:

Also worked, as it did in Beta 4.

However, I find it odd that the saved Word dialog box does not contain the Word icon and the Excel saved dialog box does❓
