More on the Word save issue:

I have another SSD with Tahoe Beta 1 installed. I booted to that disk and tried to quit and save to Word:

It worked

Next, I tried Excel:

Also worked, as it did in Beta 4.

However, I find it odd that the saved Word dialog box does not contain the Word icon and the Excel saved dialog box does❓

Lou
Maybe the icon is only displayed if the system can determine which file type it is. In your Word example you don’t yet have a file name (and extension). You could e.g. save the file as *.txt from Word.

I turned off Contacts from iCloud sync on the affected device and then turned it back on, and it synced.
Weird - I tried that when I first noticed the issue and it didn't fix it.

When the sync was off, all my contacts disappeared (as expected, as they're all iCloud ones). Turning it back on and they all came back - but as they were before, without any of the changes made elsewhere and without any of the changes on my mac going elsewhere.

Maybe I'll try again with a reboot in between. I'll be right back ... 😁

Edit: Nope! I even turned off/on Contacts syncing on my phone. What's interesting is when I did that, I was asked - as usual - whether to keep the contacts on my phone or delete them. On the Mac, that question isn't asked and they just all disappear.

Just like last time, in order to see the update on devices with Apple Silicon processors, delete these two folders. It didn’t work until I did that again.

/Library/Apple/usr/share/rosetta
/Library/Apple/usr/libexec
Why the heck does Rosetta interfere with the installation of a beta OS? THat makes no sense. The bugs and glitches are out of control

I had to do that with Beta 3. I installed Google Earth which required Rosetta to be installed again but, I didn't have to delete those files with Beta 4. It is strange. Beta 4 is running really well but, still can't get Facebook to load as I scroll down unless I use Google Chrome-Windows User Agent.

Rosetta is an optional component, but it does get updated every time the OS is updated. If Apple publishes the OS update but leaves out the Rosetta update that goes along with it, systems with Rosetta installed will not be offered the update.

It makes sense that as they are offering *developer betas*, maybe they don't publish everything quite at the same time? This has always resolved itself within a day or so.

CMD+Space doesn't work to launch Spotlight. I've tried changing the shortcut to another combination (Opt + Space) - no response.
I've tried to enable Spotlight in the menu bar to start it from there - no response.
I've tried to unplug everything - no response.
Each step has been tried with restarts.
I'm having the same issue. Tried reinstalling the OS from scratch via internet recovery and still nothing.

I'm actually on 16.99.1 - I just didn't bother to type the last bit in 😁

So, unfortunately, it didn't fix it. I've just switched to the "beta channel". Let's see what that brings ... (will edit)

So exciting! Now running 16.100. Didn't fix the issue, though!

A new beta version has been released (open Microsoft Autoupdate from the Word / Help menu and click "advanced").

Version 16.101 fixes the issue.

I had an issue whereby my Calendar changes, made on MacOS, weren't synchronising over to iCloud (and hence my iPhone).

On doing a refresh, I got an error saying the password for iCloud was wrong. Weird. Anyhoo ... went into Settings / Apple Account and everything looked fine.

Doing the above was enough to kick Calendar syncing back into life.
What did you do to get this working? I'm having the same issue

As I mentioned (maybe not very clear) in my post ...

With Calendar open, open System Settings. That's it! Now you either just wait a few seconds for the calendar to update, or cmd-r to refresh immediately.

You'll need to do this every half hour or so. I guess you could just keep the settings window open - I've not tried that.

sorry I just saw your response and didnt see the original post, I'll give it a try, thank you!

Is that a bug or a new Liquid Glass "feature"? When I want to change Safari's window height it also changes the width... why exactly does it have to resize in both ways? It doesn't work like that on previous MacOS

Is it just me or is Screen Record broken? They seem to capture, but don't save.

Edit: nm. It seems to be working. Have they always saved to iCloud Drive and not Photos?
Are you talking about using Quicktime to Screen record? Because if so you can choose where it saves.

I think these are new?
