I am really sorry but it's not all based upon OCLP. I was talking about when Apple will release macOS Tahoe

And I am unable to join the server, so cannot talk on it!

I guess I was banned on the basis of iP Address

When you ask "when Apple will release macOS Tahoe" did you honestly believe that anyone will answer you with a date ?
Go and ask Apple.
If the date of the Tahoe is critically important to you then I suggested you buy a ASi Mac then you know that you will be able to run Tahoe without the worrying about anything.

Knowing the dates in the future is not going to change your present apart from making you even more impatient.

Bro I understand your point! I do own a ASi mac but I will not install until the official software is dropped by Apple. So I was just asking for official release prediction. That's why this website was named MacRumors. So while asking about Apple release, I asked about OCLP, which is my mistake and I accept it ;).

MBP5,2 updated to 26.0b7 from b6 on external SSD, from USB installer. Again the modified* OCLP 3.0.0n used for limited patching. No surprises. Running fast enough to write this (with Firefox).

(*note modifications are temporary just to allow early Tahoe experimentation on my MBP5,2 and MBP11,1)

PS: this Tahoe SSD is now on the internal SATA, works well enough to "baptise" it this way.
For b8 I'll wait for the InstallAssistant.pkg, not sure if OTA would work. Need to boot the patched Tahoe with the bootloader containing the legacy USB map as foreseen in OCLP 300n (because of the USB1.1 patches, which make the internal keyboard/trackpad work) while without USB1.1 patches, the legacy USB map must not be present. OTA would transition from patched to unpatched while installing. With USB installer it's unpatched right away so clear which bootloader to use.
MBP5,2: now updated on external SSD which has all user data, from 15.7rc4 to 26.0b8. Using modified OCLP 3.0.0n for limited root patching.

So far always did installs of Tahoe without user data, this time with them (CCC clone from my production MBP11,1).
Root patching required another small modification to 3.0.0n which wasn't necessary before: disable the non-metal common patches and keep only the specific nvidia tesla patches (in sys_patch/patchsets/hardware/graphics/nvidia_tesla.py, see attached 1st text file). Otherwise three frameworks missing from universal binaries (CoreDisplay, IOSurface, SkyLight), and taking them from Sequoia resulted in a non-bootable system. When patching the system without my user data, anyway only the specific patches were used (didn't find out why yet **).
2nd text file is the log from the successful patch.

System is usable, with sufficient graphics speed from the specific tesla patches but without the common ones, has USB1.1 i.e. internal keyboard and trackpad, no wifi but ethernet, no internal audio. Presence of all user data allows more relevant testing now. Writing this with Firefox, Safari 26.0 reports repeated problems when loading macrumors or github pages.

Tahoe for this non-metal system seems not too far away. Thanks developers!

** reason was that I had a file .dortania_developer in my home directory, history taken over with the user data

Edit (last 1 Aug): a few tests made. System itself is stable.
+ Photos seems to work, apart from fullscreen mode
+ Keynote, Pages, Numbers seem to work
+ SSH from iPhone works and useful in troubleshooting
+ ClamXAV antivirus
+ brightness adjustment of screen and keyboard backlight
+ sleep/wakeup
- Mail client has difficulty connecting to mail servers
- closing Finder windows often cause windows server crash
- some system settings options don't work, e.g. connecting to apple account
- Safari won't load pages from many sites but Firefox works without problems
- wifi doesn't work but ethernet cable does
- local audio not working but can use TV set for output
- App Store crashes
The first three minuses are of course disturbing... but I've still done some real work with the system.
Many of the minuses are likely caused by the incomplete/wrong graphics patching.

I've been running Tahoe Developer Beta since beta 1 without issues on my M4 Pro MacMini. You should try to run it too...

T26B8/3.0.0n. Now the "Apps" that replaced Launchpad seems to be working, with the mouse still flakey. Sleep still does not work, has anyone been able to use sleep.

Just tried with MBP5,2, 26b8 (post #682 above), sleep from Apple pulldown menu, and wakeup with power button worked. Took about 45sec from clicking the menu until machine was quiet (screen dark immediately).

I wonder if a couple years difference in models would matter, I have tried the icon in the menu bar, the Apple pull down menu, short cut corner, and even when it goes into screen saver it still does not sleep, and the Imac gets warm.

Sleep/wake doesn't work on my MBP11,1 with Tahoe which has no graphics patches. When sending it to sleep, the display stays on and the trackpad pointer freezes - so it does something. Pointer wakes up again when pressing the trackpad. I may remember incorrectly, but could be the graphics needs to be in shape for sleep/wake to work.
Will crosscheck with my MBP5,2 (removing the non-metal graphics patches it has) but it is busy at the moment.

Edit: indeed when reverting the root patches (which include those for Nvidia Tesla graphics) from the MBP5,2, I can't activate sleep. Applying the patches again makes sleep work.

I guess macOS Tahoe will be released by Apple in October

macOS Sequoia and iOS 18 released on the same day in 2024.
All of the macOS and iOS betas for macOS/iOS 26 up to now have been simultaneous releases (or very nearly so).
I don't know why we wouldn't expect macOS Tahoe to release on the same day as iOS 26 — in September. I mean, maybe they won't, but that's what I'm expecting. I think that Apple wants to have their OS releases synced up now.

No I have heard it will release on September 15th !

T26B9/3.0.0n, OTW/OTA

edit: Sleep and time zone still do not work, one new thing I noticed, when I clicked on the finder icon, I think that everything in icloud was on display, and I transferred a photo from there to the desktop, they been a blank.jpg now they are an image.jpg, then when clicking quick look, the enlarged image seemed to be more clear than I remembered.

No issues with Tahoe Beta 8 -> Beta 9 upgrade via OTA (full installer). Still waiting patiently for OCLP post-install patches, so not testing anything except ability to login and capture screenshots.

OTA (full installer)

About this Mac
MBP11,1: updated to 26.0b9 on external SSD with a modified OCLP 3.0.0n, USB installer.
The inconvenience during installation on that machine (force power off and manual reboot after each step) ls still present.

No graphics patches done, but observed that AppleIntelHD5000Graphics.kext's presence in /Library/Extensions lets the system still boot (and appear faster than without), while AppleIntelFramebufferAzul.kext (the other ingredient in /L/E since many OS versions) doesn't (was always like this unless full graphics patches in place).

Writing OK from Safari 26.0.

I forgot to mention that while experimenting with T26B9, I used the new APPs that replaced Launchpad and opened the Phone app, and it worked to a certain extent, on my Iphone 13 I could see recent calls etc. and the numbers, there was a message that the phone was outdated (I think) so I could not place calls.
