Hello,
How can I know which firmware version am I using ?
My infos are:
Hight Sierra
Mac Pro mid-2010
RX 480 Sapphire Pulse
MSP51.0087.800
MAC OS 10,13,6 (17G85)
Thanks
I have no bootscreeen with the GT120 on Mini DisplayPort with a 4K Display don’t no it’s a good idea to upgrade?
MSP51.0087.B00
if you read the 1st post of the thread you needed not to ask ;-)
Set my Screen to Display Port 1.1 on the 4K Benq SW271 connected to GT120 with Mini Display to Display Port to my Screen, was able to see the Bootscreen and update to MP510089.B00GT120 don’t have DP1.2, so probably works. Please test and report if works.
My monitor is a 3840x1080 display. Which is set to communicate at DP 1.2+ on the monitor side.
For HD7950, the boot process will stuck, unless I set the monitor back to DP 1.1.
For HD4870, the card can boot with DP 1.2+ setting, boot screen can consider available, but distorted. DP 1.1 is normal, of course.
For GT120, it shows boot screen normally with DP 1.2+, but the resolution is 1920x1080, only the middle part of the monitor is used.
change your screen display mode to 1.1-1.2, helped me outI did try to do a screen share to the MacPro from my laptop and it showed me moving the arrow cursor over a black screen. Is there another command or shell script I can run to tell if te GPU itself is recognized?
Hey how is your experience with the WX9100? Would like to get one for my MacPro 5.1 please PMNice and thank you so much!
I think I need to get one 8 to 6 pin converter for the 9100. I think it, oddly (to me), comes with one 6 pin and one 8 pin power plug, which is just weird.
So....now you've gone from a Titan XP to an RX 580 to a WX9100. Where I'm from the WX9100 costs around €1750, for the money you are haemorrhaging on upgrading a Classic Mac Pro you could build a Windows system that would run rings around it.change your screen display mode to 1.1-1.2, helped me out

I found a Radeon RX Vega 64 8GB Limited Edition for 500€ what about that, I am just really confused what I should get but I want my MacPro running don’t care right know about other systems, the Limited Edition would also fit very nice in the MacPro because of his silver case and I read the AMD card working really smooth with the mac whey switched from a nVidia card
Okay thanks for the Infos, so then it will be a RX580 for 300€ it’s the best option I think with 48gb ram and 512GB 970 Pro and will save the money for the next system .... found a RX Nitro+ 580 8GB for 120€ will grap it for now and will see how it performs with that what I am doing for nowYour Mac Pro 5.1 does not have enough power from the 2 6 pin mini supply’s from the logic board for a straight vega 64 install. You will need to run the card from an external power supply or damage your logic board you will.

Boot selector and verbose mode works?I have the RX 580 I pulled out of my eGPU (the "developer kit" one) that I've been using on my Mac Pro.
Today I did an update to Mojave 10.14.1; I recall the whole Mojave update from High Sierra was a blank screen, but I now get the boot Apple logo, progress bar, and everything.
Did Apple do a change of some sort?

From 10.13.6 (MP51.0089.B00), just updated a secondary ssd to 10.14.1 (140.0.0.0.0) with conversion to APFS.
Absolutely flawless process......
Really like the look of Mojave.
It's Apple firmware update shipped with 10.14.1.is 140.0.0.0.0 an official firmware update?
Read the first post: MP5,1: BootROM thread | Mojave 10.14.1 BootROM 140.0.0.0.0 has native NVMe support!is there any specific direction for updating from 138.0.0.0 to 140.0.0.0? I am very excited having native pic-e nvme boot on my CMP.
