@tsialex ... Do you think reversing an MP41 > MP51 crossflash (MP51.0089.B00) is viable as it seems the Nektas tool has an option for this?

Really want to play with a standard MP41. One that has never been crossflashed would have been brilliant but wondering whether reverting is an option since every example on the planet appears to have been crossflashed.

For sure not with the Netka's forum tool, back then when it worked, it worked for downgrade only of MP51.007F.B03 and does not work for further EFI firmware releases, but for sure is possible with BootROM Reconstruction for whatever version.

Hi,

Mac Pro 4,1 → 5,1, BootROM 141.0.0.0.0.
Have RX 580 + EFI GTX 1080 Ti.

Tried creating installers for High Sierra 17E2208and Mojave 18G103, but:

  • No firmware update popup appears
  • Found they were actually 17E2205/ 18G101inside
  • No MP51.scap in InstallESD.dmg
  • Can’t get genuine 17E2208 or 18G103, stuck without MP51.0144.B00 update
Any way to trigger the firmware update without those exact builds?

Thanks.

You need Mojave official final build, 18G84. Special builds do not have Mac Pro firmware, as you saw.

Thanks for your quick reply and the info.

I tried downloading from that App Store link, but it still gave me build 18G101, and as expected, there was no MP51.scap inside.

How can I specifically get the 18G84 installer? It seems the App Store now only provides 18G101.

You are looking for the wrong file, is MP51.fd inside Contents/Resources/Firmware

I've just checked 18G103 downloaded with Mist and MP51.fd is present.
