When I type in a text box, like this one I’m using right now to type a post, or when I reply to a user, the experience is extremely buggy.

first of all, when I finish a paragraph and create a space between a paragraph like I just did right now, the caps lock automatically turn off when I reach the second space. Look how the first word of this paragraph is lowercase. Auto caps do turn on, but when I hit “return” twice, it turns off.

secondly, auto correct is a mess. I’m writing a and QuickType is showing me two words merged together in a jumbled mess, however what I’m writing on the text box shows something completely different from QuickType.

next, it seems auto correct is correcting the wrong word? Or random words are being typed in and I have to go back and fix it.

and by the way, all these issues seem to happen only on MacRumors forums. Does anyone else have this issue?

Forum website will freeze or doesn’t load sometimes or only half the site loads, you can’t leave the site, or enter another site without fully exiting the browser and reopening it again. Happening only on iOS/iPadOS.

Don’t have this problem on any other website, only macrumours forum page.

Been like this for a while. 😡

I've been having stuttering and odd behavior when using the previous page arrow (screen resizes itself a fraction too small then adjusts to proper size). I've contacted forum support in the past and they insist it isn't due to the website. I don't have any issues with other websites I use, only macrumors.

Glad it’s not only me, it’s definitely this forum site that is having issues on iOS/iPadOS, isn’t it strange that every other site we visit works just fine.

I haven’t had any problems in a long time.
I lost 4% battery writing one post and 5% writing another post in the space of 10-15m on my iPad. The safari loading wheel is active most of the time even when the site is fully loaded.

Is that only happening on this site?
Yep, tried a few other sites, no issues, will test it out more tomorrow, won’t browse these forums on my iPad and see how my battery life ends up.

Need to make sure it’s not my magic keyboard 🤦‍♂️ Don’t want to return it

I very rarely post via my iPhone but i view using it quite a bit and not had any issues with it working or making the phone hot.

Hmm, let me try CAPS LOCK ON

JUST HIT RETURN TWICE.

No problem
No. Sorry let me rephrase that.

When you end a sentence with a period. Caps with auto turn on. So if you press “return” twice, does auto cap turn off? Try that.

cuz all my old iOS devices does this.

Just tried this and caps lock wasnt turned off, in fact i pressed it about 10 times and it was still on. I'm using stock Safari browser by the way and iOS 14.6.
Sorry not caps lock, I meant the auto cap.

When you complete a sentence and end it on a period, auto caps turn on. Then when you hit “return” twice, auto caps turn off

Ok let me try that.

What happens is, when I end a sentence with a period (as above), then hit return, the Caps is on after the first return, but turns off when I press return a second time.

Why would I need to do that? I don't normally post like that. I did test it just now because of your reply, and my caps lock stayed on after hitting return twice.
Have you ever tried to create more than one paragraph? You need to press “return” twice to at least make space between a paragraph. I provided a similar example in the OP.

I’m just pointing it out, it seems to be MacRumors specific and it throws me off.

I tried your test again and this time the caps lock turned off.

I reread your OP and I think the problems you (many of us) are experiencing is due to the forum software. Many of us have mentioned these kinds of things to Arn and if I remember correctly, he said that the forum software uses a third party app for the posting box and there really wasn't anything he could do about it. I had to turn off the BB code option because the forum software constantly tries to change my words, capitalize words that shouldn't be, and not capitalize the beginning of a paragraph, just to name a few things.

Yes! Yes! Those are the problems I’m experiencing too!

It’s definitely just MacRumors specific. Hopefully they find an alternative…
