I see nothing wrong with using this forum to post accurate information about his service (or lack of). IMO that's part of what a forum is about. Otherwise I wouldn't know to avoid his service.I'm with several posters above who suggested the card may have been bricked by accident, but we won't know until he responds. It's also possibly a mixup.
I have said this before in these "I'm frustrated with MVC" threads, and I'll say it again. He is banned from these forums, and I don't think it's fair that we use the forums to lob histrionic accusations against him.
That's been my feeling too, though that feeling comes from what I have read here.I'm just going to go right out and say that the OP is obviously expecting McDonald's customer service from a guy that runs his business out of his living room. Many of us here have dealt with MVC. I myself was once frustrated by slow communications by him, but accounting for the fact that this is not his day job, by all reports he is an honest guy.
If he bricked the original card then he needs to fess up to it to the OP and work out some acceptable solution for the OP. What he should not do is send some random card which, according to the OP, is not in as nice a condition as the original.Have you tried your card to see if it works? I have a 7970 from him that was quite used looking when I got it, and has been humming along beautifully for about 6 years.
The most bizarre thing is the dishonest email he sent saying "I spoke to our tech department." That's himself...
As far as i know, the technical stuff is done by netkas...as it has been by Arti Itra in "the good old" open firmware days.In fairness, there was a blog post in late September announcing that they'd hired more customer service staff.

I was under the impression MVC is an individual working out of their residence. Assuming that's true, where would these alleged customer service staff work? I bet he's just using an online language translator to provide customer service in other languages.
Yes! ...just as well as not returning things recieved for repair or alike.Speculating negatively or making false statements about a person or business (e.g., declaring someone a thief when there is no evidence to that effect) is defamatory and legally actionable in the US and many other nations.
The same cards he sells are now all available on ebay for lower prices .... you dont have to buy from him unless you want to.
I bought an rx580 from him and it works.... its obviously a used card, but it works. the fans get loud in a 4k test of a game or something, but i dont play games and overall the computer is quieter than when i had an nvidia 680gtx installed because the pci and ps fans do not spin up - at all - so you dont need to use macs fas control to set them (it works on the pci and case fans but not the video card fan)I traded up from a different card, so buying from MVC was the simplest way to go (in theory).
Well, not all!It shows how desperate we all are for decent cMP graphics support
So, how did your second order go?In that vein: I have a second order outstanding with MVC as we speak. I will report back as to its resolution.
