Magnetic Apple Pencil damaging edge of new iPad Pro

It appears everyone afflicted by the scratch mark on their iPad, the marks are always in the same spot as the magnets.
I don’t buy it that it’s from user error. The magnets atract to the magnets in the iPad and the material of the Apple pencil is to blame.

yes it certainly is, but the apple genius bar says it doesn't prevent it from being used. it means live with scratches. it was a big disappointment for me
