Anyone tried the battery yet with the iPhone 13 PM? I understand what the battery is intended to do. I just want something that will charge my phone on long plane trips (most of the time the outlets on planes never seem to work) or charge it in my pocket will it's not in use. albeit very slow.....

I’m using it with iphone 13pm and it gives me back about 40% of battery life. Best way to use it is to not use the phone while it’s charging. Just slapped it in the back of the phone and let it charge with the screen off.

Yeah, but shouldn't it work also while using the phone? Yesterday I was browsing some social media while the battery pack was attached and the battery level of the phone went down. That make's no sense for me.

Did you notice any difference with the battery pack attached? Like, the phone battery level went down more slowly? Or was it the same without the battery pack attached?

Silver 13 Pro Max + Cherry Red Leather + MagSafe Battery Pack. Nice combo. These photos were taken on a 2021 iPad Pro M1 and the camera is noticeably worse than my last few iPhones :p

The entire setup weighs 396 grams or .87 pounds

Some may ask...why?

I had a pretty awful experience with my iPhone 11 Pro's battery life. A few scenarios caused me grief for a couple of years
1. Lockdown VPN content blocker eats up battery life but I like how unobtrusive it is but it was killing my battery
2. I live in an area with next to no service so when I drive to work, I arrive with the battery 10% lower as it searches for service
3. I do enough travel where a typical day is 4AM wake up, 2 hour drive to Boston, flight to wherever then straight to an office or meeting in a city then work then long day all of the way to dinner
4. Alternatively, long weekends out in the woods riding dirt bikes where the iPhone was our video camera, navigator and the screen would be on for hours at full brightness as we followed tracks and trails on our bikes then stop to take some video and I'd have to disable 'iCloud photo upload' because those 4K videos would all get sent up to Apple and so ...

For 2 years, I felt like I lived in a anxiety of constantly enabling / disabling low power / airplane mode. My wife and I both do it we are low power & airplane mode freaks and I just got tired of screwing around with mass disabling of background app refresh or forgetting the phone was in low power mode and then I try to check email since I'm always on call and have to wait for 3G service to then check for 4 hours of emails and it would have been downloading them throughout our ride. I know this seems all over the place but the point is, I'm dealing with the 13 Max + Battery because I never want to put this thing in low power or airplane mode ever again. I don't care if the battery is being used constantly. So this is my every day setup even at home now where I have no cell service. I don't have to put it in WiFi only mode at home anymore. I just let it drain its little heart out and I know at night, I'll still have a charge.

I'm very excited!

It’s so funny how people use “for a day at Disney” so often when discussing these battery packs and battery cases. When we finally went to Disney I used my apple battery case and it didn’t matter. My iPhone 11 died anyway. Too much browsing on line…
You can always just carry a big battery pack in your bag to charge your Magsafe Battery Pack. :p

Seriously though, Theme Parks are one of the most battery intensive situations you can put your phone through (Ride scheduling, Tickets, GPS, Texting, Video, Photos, Bad signal, Line boredom). I’m a fan of Magsafe Battery packs but one huge benefit of 3rd party Magsafe batteries is that you can also do WIRED charging (or even dual charging).

Has anyone's MagSafe Battery started keeping your iPhone charged to 100% (without selecting the option in control center)? Mine's been doing it since I updated to 15.1

I considered the Apple MagSafe Charger but after a lot of consideration I decided against it and bought the new Anker 622 MagGo Battery pack. Half the price, much higher battery capacity, very slim, and has a USB-C port to charge other devices too. Oh and the back folds down into a stand. The apple one in comparison seems like very poor value for money. Really pleased with this badboy!

No! Because the battery pack charges the phone at 5 watts. 5w is just not enough power to keep the screen on and charge the phone at the same time.

Can anyone explain why the pack does reverse wireless charging but can’t actually wireless charge? Why can’t you set the pack down on a pad to charge, or set it down with the phone attached? Is it a hardware issue?

Why does it only charge the phone at five watts? And why is the capacity so low? Hardware? Cost? Waiting for an upgraded model

This frustrates me too. I wish you could wirelessly charge it as well. My only guess is the iPhone has a special chip on the reverse charging coil that communicates with the battery and allows it to charge. Something regular chargers would be lacking

It’s down to 80$ on Amazon, so I’m tempted, but I don’t want to have them release a refresh six months later..

Looks great. I have my eye on this one and have been waiting for reviews. How’s the durability seem for the stand? Not that I think I’ll use it often but does it seem like it will hold up? Also, does it fold away securely or is it loose when not it use?

Just snagged the Apple - magnets strong but when I reach across the phone with my thumb to type the pack slides

On my iPhone 12, the MagSafe would charge past the 90% on it’s on at random (making the puck 100% useless by midday).

On my 13 pro max, it charges past 90%, 100% of the time.

It just charged my max from 95 to 98% and the pack dropped to 88%.

Apple should just issue a $100 iCloud credit for any smuck who bought this. Can’t believe apple did on the go charging so poorly.

I've been eyeing this and found out it's a tad too long to rest on the back of the mini... Will have to settle for the non-stand version that Anker launched earlier. Love the white, though!

I totally agree, that’s why I think these batteries aren’t even a decent measure, since even with them the phones don’t last the day ?

What is everyone’s experience with charging both the battery pack and the iPhone simultaneously?

I have mine since only a couple of days. Yesterday evening before going to bed, iPhone 12 was at 70% and the battery pack at 0%. I attached the pack to the phone, plugged the pack and went to bed.

This morning, phone was at 100% and the pack only at 35%. I wonder if the optimized charging of the iPhone somehow held back charging the pack? I wasn’t using my fast charger, maybe I should have.

When I tried it, it charges the battery pack to 100, but killed the battery on the phone.

I tried using the pack at work yesterday and it wouldn’t even charge the phone. The Apple battery meter said the pack was dead. I went and exchanged it at Verizon last night. We’ll see how it goes today with this new one.

I tried again last night, on a fast charger this time, and in the morning both the phone and the pack were at 100%. But this time the pack wasn’t at 0%, it was at 50% when I plugged it.

Not sure what happened the first time, but now when I want to charge both at the same time I’ll just use the fast charger I guess (when I have the option at least).

I have the fast charger that came with the 11 Pro series (I think it was 18w?), every night I plug the charger into the battery pack and then put the phone on the battery pack, I wake up in the morning and both are 100%

I was cleaning the Lightning port and noticed this red dot, is this the water damage indicator? It’s baffling to me because I have never used it near the restroom or does it come with all the MagSafe battery packs?
I used an alcohol wipe also

a quick fyi. If you place the battery pack on your iPhone. Then plug the cable into your phone. It charges both but your iPhone gets charged quicker. But if you plug the cable into the pack. It’ll still charge both but the battery pack will get charged quicker.

Whichever you have the cord in gets charging preferences and charged quicker. They both still charge, but one will be getting the main charge depending on which one you plug the cable into.

Also these battery packs will cause some heat. Wireless charging is very inefficient and the loss of energy is what causes the heat. These packs aren’t meant to be used as your main battery to keep your device topped off. They will stop charging if you are intensely using your device. They are meant to give you that extra emergency boost if your device is dying or not going to make it through the rest of your day. Apple didn’t create them as a second backup battery, they created them to give you a boost in power when needed.
