Can somebody else with an iPhone 12 Pro confirm this? I would really need one of those battery packs but when it’s such a crap I will go with a 3rd party.

I’ve had two different experiences with the same battery pack on my 12 mini:
-Battery Pack transfers power to replenish iPhone battery (as expected - from 20% to 87%)
-Battery Pack power gets used first while iPhone battery percentage remained the same (35%)
Either way, the pack prolonged my iPhone use through out the day

so i have the mini, and the battery life sucks. i just cant deal with this battery life. i order this battery pack hoping it would help but it sucks, it doesn't charge my phone up it just use the battery from the pack and keeps my phone idle and doesnt lose any %. i thinking about returning this Product as i just cant with this item
That's weird. I have the Mini too, and it charges quite quickly whenever I use it.
question: do you use a case? I know the new MagSafe wallet notes that it doesn’t work properly with the apple clear case and I’m wondering if the MagSafe battery is the same (despite not noting it).
I’ve had mostly useless experiences with my MagSafe battery pack, today included. It just refuses to transfer power to my 12 pro.
I use a case from time to time ….. my wife uses a case always ….. we both regularly use MagSafe battery with no issues at all. Ive just purchased another one to keep spare for travelling. The only thing I tend to do is snap it on and then allow it to charge rather than carry on using the phone.
the question I forgot to write is “what case”. I’m thinking it’s related to the clear MagSafe case.
I just took my case off as an experiment and while it’s not charging at life-changing speeds (it’s hovering up and down around 20%) I can see from the battery widget that the pack itself is draining. It wasn’t doing that earlier with the clear case on
We both use Silicone cases ….. I have to say the charging is never life changing ….. but good enough for me as a back up boost.
It may be time for me to let go of the MagSafe clear case and pick a colour for the next year. ?
I just really want to find a way to make this battery pack work reliably. It’s so much better-feeling than some of the cheaper ones I tried before. And it’s just about right in terms of what I’d need in extra power for a day at Disney or whatever with a lot of photo taking. It worked once. I just don’t know why it won’t again.
It’s so funny how people use “for a day at Disney” so often when discussing these battery packs and battery cases. When we finally went to Disney I used my apple battery case and it didn’t matter. My iPhone 11 died anyway. Too much browsing on line…
I'm going to give this thing a try.... Verizon has it for 74.24 and best buy price matched it for me... so i have 45 days to decide......
Try doing a hard restart of the phone(also called force restart). It won't erase any data. I have read this helps. And make sure the phone is updated to the latest iOS 15.0.1. Lets us know if this helps.

Without doing that, I tested it yesterday and it worked like a charm. I didn't need it to, so lo and behold it did.
Since it seems to suck most when I've taken photos and I took none yesterday, I wonder if iCloud photos trying to upload in the background or the photos app doing things it wouldn't normally do on battery alone could be responsible? Or causing heat that, in turn, renders the battery useless?
When I need it to work it fails. When I test it without any pressure, it's fine. GRRR.
If the battery is around 50% or lower, photos will usually not upload to iCloud. With the battery pack attached photos may upload and cause the phone to heat up. I don't have a battery pack but When I am out shooting photos extensively there are two things I do to keep the phone cool. First, I restart the phone before the shooting session, and second I keep the phone in standby when not actually taking photos. Keeping the camera on all the time heats up the phone and drains the battery. You should do a photo shoot test again and see.
just a heads up, I just called BestBuy 800 number, they will not price match Verizon, saying the seller is not on their price match list.
they price matched for me when it was on sale on sunday.... got the battery yesterday.
it took quite a while. i kept checking it. then i put it on the phone that was down some and it seemed to use the power from the battery pack pretty quickly... but it was charging the phone up at the same time, i guess. and OMG does it make the phone chunky and HEAVY! i mean the 13 PM is already heavy but when you add that battery pack! yikes!
i'm seriously thinking it way be going back to best buy! i like toys and deals.... so i bought it on a whim.... but 99% of the time i'm able to charge/recharge my phone in the car when we go some place... i can see the comments about people wanting it for Disneyland.... but i don't plane on going there any time soon and i've always had plenty of charge to get me through a trip to the zoo.....
I picked one up two days ago, mostly because it's so freakin' cool. No wires - just slap it on and you've got power. Not long ago this kind of thing was science fiction. Now it's a consumer product.
Great accessory if you're traveling or for those "just in case" scenarios, like a day of extremely heavy usage and no time/place to recharge. Having that little battery pack can be the difference between staying in contact and going off-line.

Anyone tried the battery yet with the iPhone 13 PM? I understand what the battery is intended to do. I just want something that will charge my phone on long plane trips (most of the time the outlets on planes never seem to work) or charge it in my pocket will it's not in use. albeit very slow.....
For a use case like that, in my opinion, you'd be better off getting a similar sized battery pack that uses a cable to charge. You'd get much more juice from such a battery because there isn't the large amount of energy lost from wireless charging and you can get the battery pack for much cheaper.
