Hi! there is no powerbank options widely available yet

I'd like to track news here

Right now I was able to find only this one - OISLE - seems insanely expensive and useless to me :)

Price seems reasonable but $48 dollars shipping ????

Hopefully this is the first of many to come

i ordered one from MagSnap.co. they no longer show it on their site, which makes me a little nervous. maybe it’s just sold out so they removed it. i’ll post pics when i get it.

This seems promising, but it doesn’t list capacity, number of charges, etc. I hope that we see more vendors with a similar product line in the near future with a much cheaper shipping rate... or at least a part of Amazon Prime.

@darrinS I ordered the same MagSnap magnetic charger and it’s departed Shenzhen which probably means that I won’t get it until next week. If you get yours sooner, please post comments.

MagSnap magnetic charger is a big disappointment. It doesn't magnetically attach to the 12 series at all. Not to the naked phone nor to a MagSafe case. It requires you to tape a piece of magnetic sticker to either your case or phone. Returning mine, or at least am going to try. No longer on web site, now I know why.

Ugh! That is disappointing and I’m kind of bummed right now. Based on your findings, I will try to return as well when it arrives. That was total false advertising. Thanks for posting.

I don’t think you’ll be able to buy an official MagSafe battery pack until Apple releases guidance for it and I haven’t seen anything yet. I hope we get one soon because that would be a great use of MagSafe.

yeah totally false advertising. im sure they knew it and pulled it from their site. it doesn’t even have anything with their name on it. not the packaging nor the manual. they just bought this from a chinese company and re sold it. i was weary from the get go because i saw misspelled words on the web site. i hope they don’t give a hard time for the return. and im sure we’ll have to pay the shipping fees for the return. total mistake and i should have trusted my gut.

I received the MagSnap today and have already sent an email to request a return and refund. We’ll see how it goes, but it’s pretty useless to me as I am not going to stick those magnets on the back of my phone. Lesson learned.

Why not? how it is different from car holders + battery? mechanically sounds extremely simple

The MagSafe certification is like the MFI and closely guarded by Apple. So a MagSafe battery pack with the 15W charging will not be possible until Apple releases their own or approves an official MagSafe spec for a partner.

any response from MagSnap.co? I sent 3 emails, got 1 reply to the 3rd asking why I wanted to return it. Three days after and no new reply. I initiated a dispute with my cc company. Very disappointing. They seemed like a good company. Now I would never buy anything again there.

I sent emails aasking to return for a full refund and got one reply as well with no further response. I had such high hopes for this company, but like you, will never deal with them again and I will warn anyone who asks about this company not to deal with them. Shoddy business.

my cc company was very supportive and I'm hopeful that the charge will be reversed.

It's not Magsafe - BUT I got this over the weekend and actually pretty good. Works well and I think gets the bump in charging speed even with the iPhone on it. The stand is a natty idea if you're into videos /gaming on your phone but it won't charge vertically which is a shame (would be nice as a desk stand with Qi)

35% off voucher on Amazon UK too.. (no - I don't work for them!)

I ordered the Oisle a few weeks back from Aliexpress. About 50 Dollar with free shipping.
Only white and red was available. After 1 day the seller contacted me through Whatsapp and asked me if I would like to choose another color as they only have black and blue left. I wanted the blue so I agreed to that. Now I am waiting. It may take a few weeks more. The price is changing almost daily on Ali: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100...earchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_

Wow now this is why MagSafe is great. I want one for my mini when I have long power hungry days. Most of the time internal battery is sufficient but these MagSafe battery packs are the bees knees.

This MagPack looks promising. Not yet on sale, they say shipping in early 2021. If the actual item matches the description then it would be a very good accessory.

This looks promising, however I’m a little leery because it doesn’t specifically state how it attaches to the phone. The last product (MagSnap) that I tried, you had to stick this card with 4 magnets to the inside of your case in order to have that ‘magnetic’ feature. MagSnap has terrible customer service. I don’t use a case. A total waste of money. I think that I’ll wait for reviews on this product before I consider whether or not to buy.

Yes, it would be prudent to read a few reviews before buying an unproven product such as this. I certainly will wait for user reviews. The description seems to indicate it actually is MagSafe, but let’s wait and see until the product is launched.

I fell for the same Magsnap scam, unfortunately, and also just got off the phone with my CC company to dispute the charge.

Never one to learn my lesson, I ordered one of these that at least had a video to go along with it:

Yes, very interested in something like this. Please update when you guys get them or see any new ones out there. Thanks.
