Maybe it’s a franchise and not owned and operated directly by the Jamba Juice company. Franchise owners are usually allowed to choose their payment provider, as opposed to locations that are owned and operated directly by the company, all of which usually have the same payment platform. If that’s the case, we’ll continue to see nfc at other Jamba Juice locations.I have some potentially bad news for everyone. A Jamba Juice location by my work replaced their NFC reader with a setup from Toast. There was no indication at all that contactless works nor have I ever seen contactless work at any Toast merchant. I reached out to them on Twitter for comment.
FWIW here's what the customer facing screen looks like. At least EMV works, even if you still have to give your card to them.
