I've watched all of Band of Brothers and all of the episodes of this show that are out. I haven't watched all of The Pacific -- I couldn't get into it for whatever reason. I rank these shows: Band > Masters > Pacific.

I haven’t seen Masters yet, I have seen the other two. I’m pretty sure I’ll end up ranking the same way after I’ve seen the series. The importance of the air war in the European theater cannot be over stressed more American lives were lost in the European theater air war than in any other branch of the military in any other theater of the war.

I find this pretty surprising and funny since I skipped over this show after literally JUST getting back into watching AppleTV+. But I was watching Monarch. WW2 shows are kinda boring to me. To each their own I guess. I might give it a watch after I finish Monarch, which started kinda horrible but is getting better as of episode 3

I watched the first episode. Beautifully shot with top-tier effects, but I found it pretty bland and boring. Predicable plot, cookie-cutter stereotypical characters, etc. Don’t think I’ll be watching any more.

Can’t wait for season 2 of “Severance”, however!

Curious. I wonder how much longer WWII dramas will be relevant? We’re approaching a time when no one from the war era survives. I’m a little surprised that the demand for WWII related content continues to draw so much demand.
I watched a Civil War movie once. Enjoyed it quite a lot. Would watch more.

Right. Which still dovetails with my observation. At some point the preferred war is likely not to be WWII when telling those types of stories. You don’t see a lot of movies about WWI anymore, for example.
There have been more WW1 movies made recently than at any prior time I can think of. Also the specifics of WW2 (ie not just a trench warfare stalemate) vs the First World War, makes it a much better vehicle for telling all types of stories so I don’t think they’ll be going away anytime soon.

My grandfather and his brother were killed by Nazi's September 29, 1943 in Naples, Italy. My dad picked him out of a pile of dead bodies when he was 13. There's a small monument to the people they killed that day in Naples.. the ages of the killed ranged from a little boy to an old lady. Anything WWII needs to be remembered especially when animals are flying that Nazi flag here in the USA nowadays.

You are obviously not an historian.

This is genuinely the stupidest comment ever written on any forum ever. Compounded by the number of upvotes. 😂

I am huge WWII enthusiast. About 50% of the stuff I read and watch is about the Second World War, has been for tens of years.

For me Masters of Air has been disappointing. With the budget they had this is the best they could do? Maybe it’s the budget and the pressure of Band of Brothers and The Pacific but it’s almost like they took zero risks with this one.

Very bland and forgettable show so far. But I do appreciate any serious efforts around the topic, so thumbs up for the production crew.

I’ve tried so hard to get into this, as it’s a genre that’s right up my alley.

I just don’t find the writing to be very good, and it is really lacking a cohesive storyline of any kind.

The visuals are great but I’m not finding much else about it to be particularly compelling

Just one persons opinion
Reasonable minds can disagree

The rise of fascism in Nazi Germany in the 1930’s should be a cautionary tale for what’s happening right now.

Take the hint.

Really.

Have not seen it yet but plan on doing so. Not so sure whether it will be as good as Severance.

I love the show. But I find weird that we don't see the genius behind the combat box, that is, the intrepid commander Curtis LeMay, only vague references but not a single frame. And LeMay was the kind of genuine commander that when the pilot were scared, flew the lead.
