MBA M1 Mouse Lag / Not Smooth

I'm using my MBA 16GB with a Logitech mouse (M310 via USB) when docked with lid closed using a 4K monitor. I have a Windows PC right next to this for work and the same mouse is extremely smooth, no issues. When I switch to using it on the MacBook, it's not smooth feeling and almost feels like there's lag.

Is there any settings I'm missing as a first time Mac owner? It's quite annoying actually and making me want to give up on the Mac.

I'm in a similar position with a M1 Mac-Mini. It looks like Logitech have not updated their drivers yet to be Universal, so they are running through the Rosetta 2 emulation layer and it's most likely what is introducing the lag. Correct solution is for Logitech to recompile their drivers (traditional slow to do releases!) or switch to a wired mouse in the short term.

In my case I had an old USB wired mouse and I've been using that with no problems, but I really miss the MX2 mouse and hope Logitech get this resolved quickly.

Yeah I was wondering if there's some driver I'm missing but then all I could find is that Logitech says they don't support MacOS 11.0 or the M1 Macs...thought I saw it somewhere last night when trying to figure out the issue. I'm guessing a bluetooth mouse won't fair any better.

Maybe I'll get a magic mouse for now to return later or something...I don't know but it's really ruining my experience for me!

Why not look on Amazon or a local store for a really cheap USB wired mouse as an interim solution? This one I'm using was under $10 and has been well worth the expense

True...I think these issues are obviously separate from the M1 Bluetooth issues that are supposedly being fixed soon. You're probably right that it's an issue on the Logitech side and if it has to go through the Rosetta emulation that could be causing more delay/stutter/lag.

Another Logitech issue I presume...though there is a known issue with M1 Bluetooth right now but I'm guessing we all have a Logitech issue.

I sorted my Logitech mouse scrolling issues by installing Smooze. It has a free trial, but is very cheap anyway. Scrolling everywhere on my M1 Mac Mini is buttery smooth now - particularly in Brave, Edge and Chrome. https://smooze.co/ - it's an Apple Silicon app too Is it scrolling your asking about? I still get occasional pointer lagginess though, as if the computer is doing something extremely intensive while you're trying to move the pointer around - but of course it's not.

Have same mouse. Have same latency issues connecting with Bluetooth or the Logitech supplied USB wireless receiver.

Scrolling isn't really an issue but I can't seem to find how you can adjust how many lines you scroll per turn? It's an issue with just general mouse pointer movement, it's clearly now very smooth as compared to on Windows.

I had mouse lag using a corded 2005 logitech click mouse on my M1 MBP but only with a display link dock using two external screens.

My magic mouse 1 was running pretty laggy so I am trying to Logitech MX Anywhere 3 with the receiver and its running great. The BT connection with the MX was pretty bad though. This is an issue with Apple right now.

I'm having the same issue with my Razer Basilisk V2 Mouse as well.

My magic mouse 2 is fine on my M1 MBA for both pointer and scrolling.
I appreciate others have had issues with theirs, though I suspect they're also using other BT devices as well.
My only BT device is the MM2

I would also say that whilst my MM2 was charging I used a wireless (USB) Logitech mouse and that was awful.
But in fairnesss the USB plug was plugged in to a Caldigit TS3+ dock as there are no USB-A sockets on the M1

I just tried my Logitech mouse with the USB plugged into my Apple USB-A to USB-C adaptor and it works fine so far.

Just install Smooze if you're using a third-party mouse of track ball. Smooze is a solution to the problem.

How so? I have never seen a Logitech scroll wheel do anything other than scroll a notch at a time. Does your Mac even it all out to give you a smooth scroll? I had to install Smooze to enable true smooth scrolling with a Logitech device. No problems with my Magic Mouse, of course.

Same issue here with MX Master 3 over BT, much better with Unifying usb but not 100% smooth like on PC. I only notice it if I looking for it. No issue for my everyday use like web browsing, photo/video editing.

You scroll a web page and one notch scrolls the page one notch and stops. you turn the mouse wheel faster and you get several notches, jump, jump, jump. Are you really not seeing that? The mouse I have, Logitech MX Master 2S, has scroll wheel and button to adjust scrolling. If you push the button so the wheel just scrolls a notch and stops it will jump, and then spinning the wheel it will jump and jump. If you push the button by the scroll wheel down again it does not jump scroll and spinning the wheel give smooth scrolling up and down.

This is how the mouse works in both Chrome and Edge. I don't use any other browsers.

What drivers though? I didn't install any drivers.

PS. My MX 2S Master is still laggy on BT or USB receiver. There's like a 50ms latency between the physical movement and the onscreen cursor.
