No, M1 Pro has faster SSD's in every size.Is the M1 Mac Mini 8/8 16gb 512gb SSD the same speed as the M1 Pro 512gb SSD?
It tends to vary from time to time in my Mac's too which is normal. Just a fair warning, do not run speedtests too often, it wear SSD due to lots of writes on the disk during test.16" M1 Pro 8/14, 16GB, 1TB
But I seem to be getting some pretty wild variations in that speed though, all else being equal. I did this test a few days ago at the same stress level and got a much higher speed on write. I also tested earlier today for a much lower write speed -- like a range of 5000-6700. ¯\_( ツ)_/¯
Generally speaking, if you’re looking for the “7.4Gbs” advertised SSD speeds by Apple, the 4TB and 8TB can hit that target. I have seen a few 2TB models hit close. So looking at this thread, is the general concensus still that the 4tb config is the fastest?
Will you really notice a wrist speed of 5xxx MB/s vs 7xxx MB/s? It's one thing seeing a graph while running a benchmarking program and quick another saving an excel spreadsheet and seeing its 2 tenths of a second faster. So looking at this thread, is the general concensus still that the 4tb config is the fastest?
Such thread doesn't exist because the numbers largely remain the same. Except of course the 512GB base models, which got almost half the speed of 2021's.Does this thread exist for the 2023 models? I tried searching and couldn’t find it. I see the above poster, but can’t find any others.

I am interested as well in some M3 (Max/Pro) benchmarks for 1TB, 2TB, 4TB and 8TB.Would any of this be different for the M3 Max chips?
What would be the speed difference between 4tb and 8tb on an M3 Max 14inch? Would there be any noticeable power usage difference?
