Is the M1 Mac Mini 8/8 16gb 512gb SSD the same speed as the M1 Pro 512gb SSD?

But I seem to be getting some pretty wild variations in that speed though, all else being equal. I did this test a few days ago at the same stress level and got a much higher speed on write. I also tested earlier today for a much lower write speed -- like a range of 5000-6700.
¯\_( ツ)_/¯

It tends to vary from time to time in my Mac's too which is normal. Just a fair warning, do not run speedtests too often, it wear SSD due to lots of writes on the disk during test.

Disk though is far from being empty (after migration I have ~3/4 of it used, if that matters). It seems that blackmagic shows a bit worse results than other benchmarks like AmorphousDiskMark (especially for read)

Does this thread exist for the 2023 models? I tried searching and couldn’t find it. I see the above poster, but can’t find any others.

Such thread doesn't exist because the numbers largely remain the same. Except of course the 512GB base models, which got almost half the speed of 2021's.

just got the base 16" m3 with a 512gb SSD. I was within the return period for the m2 Pro 512gb

m2 Pro 512
3300/3500

m3 Pro 512
4500/5600

which alone IMO is a good improvement.

Drooling over the 8tb read and writes into the 8000MB/s

Huh. Excuse me 👀👀. That’s insane with just the 1TB SSD.

I’m tempted to go for an M3 Max. This is nice to see.

I can’t imagine the 2TB or 4TB.

Looks like Apple did a complete SSD overhaul this year.

From 5900 Write on M1 Max to 7100 write on M3 Pro. 😍😍.

*not to discredit the M1 Max speeds* still king 👑
