Then why not say "scan" ( as the title shows on the homescreen ) or i don't Memory Sweep.. Why use another applications name?
I have no idea. I could be wrong, but I'm guessing that's what it is because it's on mine too when I run the app

Theres something not right...... hummmmm
There is something flakey about this program... I noticed it said i'm running Touch Scan Pro? but I don't even have that application on my iPhone.. never even purchased it...
Very interesting. i bet that was the original intended application name but that was already taken:
http://appshopper.com/entertainment/touch-scan-pro
That would make sense why the icon name is Scan.
By the way, the first item on my running list is also Touch Scan Pro.
Ok lets say that was the intended name for the application " Touch Scan Pro" that name does not sound like an application that would free memory? .... Who knows but I think something is not quiet right
He may have intended it originally for the iPod Touch? (shrugs) Touch Scan sounds like a memory analysis software to me.
Who knows lol maybe they should fix that though... because I can see the makers of Touch Scan Pro being a little angry
I just started up my other memory app- Memory Info- and it doesn't show Touch Scan Pro running under Processes. I'm not sure if that tells us anything or not though![]()
Seriously I wouldn't BS the screen shots! Obviously you're getting different results but why?
Edit: when typing it brings up what I showed in the SS. BUT If I do hit the search button I get the results you get.![]()
Actually was looking for a free memory manager today, but all were paid versions. Thanks so much for this!
It also tells you all the running apps and the free, inactive, active, and wired memory.
Edit: One question. How much memory is taken up by this app?
Who knows lol maybe they should fix that though... because I can see the makers of Touch Scan Pro being a little angry
The memory this app takes up is so little, it's insignificant. I don't have an exact number so hope this helps.
That's okay. I assumed it was, but wanted to ask anyway. It seems to work great. Thanks again. You might want to respond to some of these other posts, if you think it'll be worthwhile, since they seem to think there's something fishy about it.
Is only 7mb of memory available okay? It seems kind of low lol
I cleaned it with 15 once. It dropped back down to ~7.
How much should be freed for optimal use?
Yeah, I have around 30. Is that b4 or after using Memory Sweep?

The app shows how much memory you have currently. So if you've already freed your memory, that is how much you have after.
For normal use, you should free 15mb. If you're about to play a game, freeing 30mb is recommended.
I think he was asking how much possible can you have free. One thread someone said he had 80 free. Is that possible?
80 is not possible for 3G.
Okay, what's the max possible for a 3G then? Also, what is the max for a 3GS, which might have been what that person had that said 80.
