[Merged] Has Outsourced Assembly in China Contributed to Declines in Apple Quality?

I had a powermac G4 that was made in Ireland and that was great quality. Then again, my mini has been rock-solid too, although it seems the mini is the most solid mac that can currently be bought.

Maybe its just that problems are reported so much more these days, more people have access to the internet and such that it seems like the quality has decreased.

I haven't noticed electronic stuff from China being different. Apple gear has been pretty stable for me since the Apple IIe. But some clothes I have seen from China seem sub-par.
