looks good, its says its an add on for prepaid when i login but i'm not currently on an iphone(waiting for the firmware update to see if it screws up the unlock). has anyone actually tried it? i'm kinda doubtful...

Not QUITE sure what your question is.

My UNDERSTANDING is that it is an add-on for an existing phone account- that is, if you want this ONLY and no phone, no go. Like Total Internet is 19.99 for add on, 29.99 for just the plan (no phone service).

My thought on an update: We KNOW it works now, and works well. Why wait? D/L all the restore files and such that work now. If an update happens, don't update until you know it works OR a new hack comes out. And have the phone now.

It REALLY is a cool phone. My wife likes it now that I have one, and she sees what it does. She TRIED to take it to work today!

my question is in trying to get net on prepaid. 5.99 mo would be a no brainer to have internet. i currently have a prepaid tmobile phone and would probably still get an iphone if only for its beauty but without net its not nearly as good an option.

so i can have a tmobile account for say 600 minutes for 39 dollars.. and add the tmobile 5.99 internet plan (is it unlimited?) would this work out.. because it would be much cheaper than a att plan.. also any texts?

I was wondering what aerospace asked above: can you get tzones or the total internet with a prepaid account of any sort?

I don't use my phone for talking very much (mostly use Skype at home), so I'm looking for the cheapest way to get internet plus a few talk minutes a month on the iPhone.

I currently have 1000 shared minutes. This morning I added the tZones at 5.99.... and I am surfing, uTubing and e-mailing no problems! My understanding is that it is unlimited- confirmed at TMobile store I just came in from (corporate store, BTW)

I THINK that adds Hotspots. I dunno. I know that WILL work with no problem on iPhones.... getting tZones to work takes a bit of hacking. But it does work, too... and is 15 bucks cheaper.

I just need to know.. for EDGE only, is there any benefit to paying for the 19.99 Total Internet over the 5.99 Total Internet?

To the best of my knowledge, no. PLEASE consult with your TMobile rep to confirm. I am just a voice on the Internet!

You have to change a couple settings and mess with some other stuff ... and you get hotspots on the 19.99 one.. i have the blackberry one because my company gets it for free which is awsome...

Wow. I suppose I was thrown off by the description of "unlimited access to mobile Web destinations and great capabilities—like reading, editing, and sending e-mail directly from your phone." I hate to really, really beat this horse to a pulp, but... it works for full internet and not just those crappy mobile pages, right?

No prob. I found it hard to believe, too! I have tested Safari on my personal sites, cnn, tmobile.com, others- no problems.

I cannot say that tmob MAY close this hole when they figure it out!

You do have to edit one file, and create a second, but it took me 5 minutes...scared the hell out of me to do, but easy!

OK, I just set up my mail account. NO PROBLEMS- got all my mail (verified via my laptop). POP account.

Hey, pdpfilms, check your PM

so you get "real internet" just for paying $5.99 for T-mobile web??this amazing..But are you sure they wont charge you some extra $$ on your bill?
What if I have unlocked Iphone and use youtube lets say, without any extra "internet" plan? Are they gone charge me for the data usage??Did anybody already got the bill from T-mobile after using it with Iphone??

Yep! :D

But are you sure they wont charge you some extra $$ on your bill?

Take a look at what TZones is- unlimited internet. I can't say they may not TRY to jack up the price, or change the configuration or terms, but for the time being, it seems correct and legal. I even had a TMobile rep tell me this was OK, and note that on my account (In Store).

What if I have unlocked Iphone and use youtube lets say, without any extra "internet" plan?

If you do not have an Internet plan.... buddy, you won't be getting the Internet from TMobile. The TZones plan IS an Internet plan.

Are they gone charge me for the data usage??

Not according to Tmobs TZones page- that part where it says unlimited internet.... I think that means unlimited. It says for one low price. I think I will take them at that.

Did anybody already got the bill from T-mobile after using it with Iphone??

I just checked my account online. Exactly what I expected... my base plan plus 5.99...

19.99 - all ports open (irc, ssh, sftp and thirdy paty clients on your phone that uses different ports) and you can also tether your laptop

5.99 - only mail and web ports open (which doesnt matter for the iphone cause all you can do on an iphone is web and email, unless you add a native third party app that uses a diff port than 80,25,etc.... such as an aim client for iphone )

Great- thanks Tashafa. I did not know what the diff was, now I do. Cool. I am good with the limited, 5.99 plan then.

Is it really possible to use the iPhone as a modem? Didn't think this was possible.

T-Zones is considerably slower than the Total Internet plan. Check your speeds at iphonespeedtest.com

Total Internet has hotspots, and very fast EDGE. T-Zones is also difficult to get working because of the proxy, and it is possibly T-Mobile is discontinuing the T-Zones pacakage

I bought my iPhone this Saturday and unlocked in 30 minutes. Popped in my Blackberry T-Mobile sim card (BB data plan) and it worked like a charm Youtube over EDGE, everything just works.

Also, im almost sure that t-zones is GPRS, not edge. I remember on my razr v3t, it didnt use edge when on t-zones.
